Question about Ford Escort
In 1998 they offered 2 engines both were 2.0L 4cylinders but one was a DOHC the 8th vin # is a 3 if you have this engine it is completely different but if you have a 1997 or 1998 2.0L SOHC vin # should be a P then they are the same engine, you should replace the water pump when replacing the timing belt, most belt failures are because of the water pump failing.if you need the procedure or timing mark positions let me know and i will get them to you but i will need your e-mail to send them to fixya dosent have enough space to load the images.
