Simply, You must replace the water pump, the same thing happened to me and the water pump had to be replaced, If you can, replace it yourself because its a pain and im sure it will cost you if taken to a mechanic, also go to any aouto parts store and buy the water pump yourself, you will save money doing so

My 98 dodge intrepid 3.2 liter engine is leaking water from the waterpump area. The waterpump was professionaly replaced about 20,000 miles ago. I was told there are hoses underneath the cover that could...

No! The Pro was not a pro. At a guess, the old gasket wasn't cleaned away. But it could be a faulty water pump too! Either way, it needs to be repaired. Just one overheating can fry an engine! So be rather careful not to invest in a dead horse. If you do a compression test, this will tell the tale.

It overheated, smoking and water pouring

If water poured out you probably busted a hose or radiator sprung a leak. Sounds like that and a bad thermostat or water pump went out.

Replace cooling fan termstat and vehicle still over heats

Test thermostat in a jug and pour boiling water on it , it should compress meaning it works. Check that the waterpunp is operating pushing water into the engine .Check that radiator water flows to the watrpump. Is tension of fanbelt of waterpump sufficient that it doenst slip. Lastly check that the radiator fan is working if has a electric fan. if this doesn’t help check if radiator or engine water passages isn’t blocked.

I pour coolant in from the radiator cap a almost instantly leaks

On most cars there is a weep hole that goes out when your water pump does. Chances are if your car was not making any terrible noises that it is just your waterpump.
Try cleaning the area then watching carefully to see where the fluid is coming out.But 9 times out of 10 its almost always the waterpump. If it was coming out of the oil pump then chances are that you will be able to see coolant on your oil dipstick and then thats a whole new set of problems.

There is water leaking out of the truck underneath when the engine is not running, but doesn't leak when the engine is running. Could this be the water pump?

There is a Weep hole on the Top of the Waterpump to let you know if it is Bad. Is there water on the Motor or Belts????

There is antifreeze poring out by a pully

If antifreeze is "pouring" out by the pulley where there are two black hoses attached, that is the water pump and must be replaced. MM85
