Question about Toyota Celica

Sometimes my 1991 celica wont start. It has power but does nothing, after a few hours it starts fine.

When u turn the key if you get a healthy sound from your starter motor, if so this means that ur starter motor and battery are probably okay.

Look for the air fiter of your car, it should be onto of the engine, in a plastic box, if the filter inside is wet or full of dust this will need replacing.

next you need to check your spark plugs, google on how to check and replace ur plugs.

Truck periodically stops running. will turn over but no spark


So you know the fuel pump would have nothing to do with the plugs getting spark, right ?
You said the coil tested good, is it getting voltage from the key switch and a ground signal from the distributor ?

Fuel filter yes, could be the crankshaft sensor.

thermostat faulty, leads to motor overheating result blown head gasket.Is there water comn out of exhaust, Is oil discoloured on dipstik?
