2009 crv check fuel cap

Go to the parts store where you bought the cap. Sometimes the code clears on it's own and sometimes you need to have it reset. If this is not an option disconnect the negative battery cable for a minute. Just as a warning, if you disconnect the battery you will have to reprogram most all of your electronics.

Hi have a pontiac G6 GT 2005 I have a message that comes on saying check gas cap the 1st time it happened it was under warranty and the dealership replaced the gas cap for me, a year later the same thing...

The fuel cap needs to be tight or it will set a code. It's a pressurized fuel system. Try to tighten snug the code should clear itself. If this does'nt work exchage the fuel cap, it may not be working properly.

Check engine light stays on after I filled with gas, I tightend cap but it's still on

the pcm will have to be reset in older cars you can disconnect the battery cables, in newer cars you have to drive 50 to a 100 miles before it will read the error as corrected if it was the cap, if it is stubborn youll have to have it reset with a hand held, if it is in fact the fuel cap

2006 Saturn Relay Check Engine Light

PO455 is a large evaporative fuel leak. A bad fuel cap is ONE of the things that COULD be the problem. Fuel system cleaning only lightened your wallet. Reading your post is confusing. Did all this start AFTER the Valvoline Wallet Flushing? If so , they left something loose or disconnected. I would find a qualified repair shop to fix the problem, and if it has anything to do with what Valvoline did, make them pay the bill.

I had a check engine light on for my gas cap. I fueled up and sometimes it would say "check gas cap" So i just plugged it in under the steering wheel and cleared the check engine light from my dash board. So far so good.
