You shouldn't have to do anything to make it work because it won't loose memory or anything like that. Make sure the battery is in the remote the correct way. Was it working at all before you changed the battery? If it wasn't and still isn't and the battery is in the right way, then either the remote is bad, it needs reprogrammed to the car, or there is a problem with the body control module on the vehicle.
Hope this helps. Good luck!

Dash gauges not working and the door lock and unlock doesn't work all at the same time

Sounds like one of the fuses. If you checked the ones in the dash, there are more in a box under the hood. You can find a lot of answers at the "Chrysler Sebring Convertible Club" on-line since they share the electronics with the sedan.

2000 Chrysler Sebring windsheild washer pump

check the fuse panel for weak or blown fuse in the wiper/washer circuit if that all checks ok then using a test light or volt meter then find the washer pump leads at the bottom of the washer pump itself and with the circuit activated make sure you have 12 volts going to it also check the ground wire to it to insure proper ground if voltage is present then remove the motor assembly from the washer housing and relace the motor
