My 1998 Daewoo Leganza D-TEC Manual 2.0l is leaking oil from the rocker cover and my car starts smoking after it travels about 10 km, but when it is cold it seems to run fine, I hear a double knock sound...

its worn out and needs an engine rebuild ,what happens with these cars is that without regular oil changes the inside of the engine builds up with a lot of carbon black gunk this then breaksa down when it does get a oil change and then blocks the oil pick up pipe filter ,Causing oil starvation which is what you have had happen ands so the big ends are now noisey and the tappets with worn piston rings .New engine

I just had a catalitic converter changed in my car because the check engine light was reading that the catalyst was running below the threshold but the car is still spudering

Sorry that I don't know the answer of your question, but I also have a 2000 Leganza with engine light on. I cannot get a garage to read codes for me. Where do you get it fixed? Please email: Davidhappy76@hotmail.com, Thx!

1999 Daewoo Leganza wont start

You has the classic sign of a blown headgasket.
You need to do one of the three to determine the condition of the engine.
coolant system compression test
chemical combustable gas test
cyclinder compress test.

In order for an engine to ran it must has
air fuel spark
and COMPRESSION
Check the compression and post the readings on the comment window.

I will follow up.

Ticking noise from engine

You might have a bad hydraulic valve lifter (assuming this engine has them)... you could try an aftermarket product designed to unstick valve lifters.... any auto parts store carries them.

ECU port for 99 Daewoo Leganza

you mean the diagnostic port? All vehicles after 1996 use obdII and the rules for the location of the plug state that it must be accessable from the drivers seat. it could be anywhere from near the drivers door to the center console. It may be covered by a plate. get a good flashlight and good luck. You can also contact Daewoo at www.daewoous.com or call 1-800-323-9668
