P0304 Code - Cylinder #4 Misfire Detected
A P0304 code means that the the car's computer has detected that one of the engine's cylinders is not firing properly. In this case it's cylinder #4.

Symptoms may include:
* the engine may be harder to start
* the engine may stumble / stumble, and/or hesitate
* other symptoms may also be present

Causes: A code P0304 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
* Faulty spark plug or wire
* Faulty coil (pack)
* Faulty oxygen sensor(s)
* Faulty fuel injector
* Burned exhaust valve
* Faulty catalytic converter(s)
* Running out of fuel
* Poor compression
* Defective computer

Possible Solutions:
If there are no symptoms, the simplest thing to do is to reset the code and see if it comes back.

If there are symptoms such as the engine is stumbling or hesitating, check all wiring and connectors that lead to the cylinders (i.e. spark plugs). Depending on how long the ignition components have been in the car, it may be a good idea to replace them as part of your regular maintenance schedule. I would suggest spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap, and rotor (if applicable). Otherwise, check the coils (a.k.a. coil packs). In some cases, the catalytic converter has gone bad. If you smell rotten eggs in the exhaust, your cat converter needs to be replaced. I've also heard in other cases the problems were faulty fuel injectors.

Hope helps.

Location of camshaft position sensor on a 2002 oldsmobile bravada

4200 vortec, Its located in front of engine, its just below the engine oil fill cap, right by the coolant hose is the camshaft position sensor (CMP)
If your looking for the camshaft positioning actuator solenoid its location is on the exhaust manifold side on the top right corner of the cylinder head, if your looking at the motor from the exhaust side, its behind the power steering fill. You have to remove the belt to loosin the power steering pump through the pulley then kind of push it aside as you take out the camshaft actuator solenoid.

Not working right

code p0014 refers to camshaft position(CMP) actuator . exhaust /right /rear bank 1--timing over advanced/system performance===causes valve timing--engine mechanical fault--CMP actuator . If you have done no work on the engine then I would be replacing the exhaust cam actuator (CMP actuator)

I have explorer 2002 and i dont know what is that. Code p0304 i woulk you guys told me how can i fix it

P0304 is a number four cylinder misfire. Check the plug to see if it is carbon tracked or worn out. Make sure the wire is not carbon tracked or leaking. Make sure there is spark to that plug.

Roughly how much does a camshaft module cost and where can I purchase it from? Had it diagnosed at NAPA on the machine and codes cam back that it was the camshaft module-their book did not show a camshaft...

yes it does show a p0341 code I/C camshaft postion module,,,,,but its very deciving as there is NO camshaft position module on these cars,,,it means there is a secondary ignition problem,,,like old spark plugs and wires(do not use bosch platinum plugs),,or a crank sensor which is located in the engine block under the intake manifold,,,,or a ignition module which is what the spark plug wires connect to by the trans,,,,it could be any of those,,,i would start with spark plugs and wires and clear the code and see if it comes back,,these cars are odd with this code,,i didnt understand it either til i became a saturn tech
