You should be able to change the battery in the remote, if not a dealership will be able to.

How do I replace battery in remote for 1999 Crown Vic

Remote needs to be taken apart either by a small screwdriver, or by finding the small tabs on the side and separating the two halves of the remote. Button cell batteries.

I recently bought a 1996 intrepid and want to replace the batteries for the remote doors locks and they are missing. What size batteries do I need to buy?

there should be something on the remote itself that says what battery goes in it like 'Co2032' or something similar-or, just take it to a Radio Shack, they will replace it for you.

Remot not working

check and replace the battery on your remote especially if it is the stock battery the remotes are built to withstand alot of abuse but cold water or very hot dry heat can easily short them so if the battery doesnt work replace the remote at a suzuki dealer

Remote Keyless Issues

I took my remote to Batteries Plus. Instead of just a battery replacement, you need to get the inside resoddered (I think I spelled that wrong). The staff there didn't charge me for the work either. Very helpful.

I think you should recheck the battery installation, if there is no fault then the remote is defective or the cars receiver that picks up the signal, it is more likely that that remote is the culprit.
