Ford transit 52 plate clutch pedal goes soft then csnt change gear then pump pedal pedal goes back to normal drive for a short while then clutch pedal goes soft again and just repeats as above just bought...

The clutch hydraulic system has a problem-either the clutch master cylinder or the slave cylinder on the bell housing may be at fault.

If the brake fluid is low in the clutch master cylinder reservoir, there may be a leak to the outside. Refill and check for leaks while someone pumps the clutch pedal. Check around the clutch master cylinder (also under the dash- if wet there around the top of the clutch pedal or if wet on the carpet below the pedal, the master cylinder is leaking.) Check the single line from the clutch master to the bell housing where the slave cylinder is. If no leaks found, likely the clutch master cylinder or the slave cylinder has failed internally.

Is it safe: there won't be any further damage caused by running it, but if shifting gets harder and harder to do, that may cause a driveability problem.

I am installing the thermostat on my F150 but it leaks, I done twice already,I know I'm doing something wrong,Is it the gasket before the thermostat or the other way around?

I'm having the same issue. I had to replace my front cover and I forgot to put in the thermostat. (Wasn't leaking at all). So then I decided to put it back in so I took off the housing and replaced the gasket and put in the thermostat. Now it leaks like no other. I have taken it off several times looking at it and I can't seem to figure it out. I have tried thermostat then gasket and other way around. I tried putting the spring part on the thermostat towards me and then away. Nothing is working. If you have figured it out let me know.

Every time i push the brake it leaks out of the little thing that is connected behind the tire(where the nuts connect the tire). the car sat over night and it continued to leak.

this is either the bleeder valve or the brake line. In either case, you can try tightening. If it is the bleeder, you can also try replacing the bleeder. If it will not stop the leak, you may need a new cylinder in the drum. Please let me know if you have more questions.

Brake line is leaking in the left rear of my 94 grand am. cant seem to follow line up to abs system. dont want to cut the wrong line. how do i know what line to replace going into abs.

your lines are in a 5 groove holder plastic clip on the drivers side by the back door,if you could have use of a lift it is visible to follow it from the left wheel cylinder around the gas tank.

How to change thermostat on 1999 maxima

Easiest way follw the top radiator hose or it may be the bottom dependeing on your engine but follow it to the thermostat housing there should be only 2 bolts in the housing remove the bolts take out the tstat clean any old gasket from around the area replace with new tstat and gasket but before you do all that let the car cool down and if yout tstat is at the top it should be okay to do it without draining the system you'll lose a little coolant but if its at the bottom drain the system. Good luck

Gas line is leaking very close to tank. The leak is at the joint where the metal pipe coming from tank meets a rubber hose that runs to filter. It seems to be leaking right at this joint which seems to...

You want to be very careful not to make any sparks while working on this. The obvious is smoking, banging metal tools around, etc. keep cell phones AWAY from the area. Pick up some rubber fuel line from the parts store. Be prepared for some gas leakage, have a plastic pan under the leak. Disconnect the line at the tank, have a piece of new hose ready to push on over the line to as close to the tank as you can, have the end away from the tank plugged up temporarily with a pencil or something that fits snug in it, then remove the rubber hose on the filter, and connect new line from tank to filter, check for leaks, hopefully it is the rubber line you replaced, or the end of the metal line, so the new hose will hopefully cover the corroded leaking area. Clamp and Dry off area and see if you can spot any leaks.
