There might be a problem with the delivery of the fuel. Check the fuel filter. If it needs replacement check the quality of the fuel. Your tank may have dirt that needs to be removed. It could also be the injectors.

How do I fix an 01 hylander. starts fine, runs for as long as I give it gas then immediately dies

What obstruction blows out of vehicles?

Make that one up, did you !

Checked the air filter for what?

How about having a shop road test with scanner &
look at data, then do some testing, to find a problem

Ever work on the vehicle a couple times
a year or just drive till it acts up?

Truck dies, acts like it is getting to much fuel, used a quarter tank of gas in 8 miles

Clogged Gas Filter

Worn out & Blocked Exhaust Converter

Bad Ground at Fuel Pump

The different gas gauge readings would indicate a ground
issue with the sending unit in the fuel tank & possibly the
fuel pump shares the same ground or it is worn out.

I would check fuel pressure with a gauge & the fuel may be
there, but not enough volume

A fuel pump can last 4 years or 18 years

1992 chevy truck wanting to run hot and then gets rough idling like it is going to die out have to give it gas

So you attack the overheating problem first before you blow an engine.

Thermostat, fan clutch, water pump, blockage in cooling system or low coolant level are some of the possibilities.
Is the gauge showing hot when it is overheating ?

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome. You may have a bad connection to the battery. Make sure all wires are tight and secure, also make sure the ends and post are cleaned. Your alternator may be going bad. If you can get it to start, start it and take the hot side battery terminal off, the red one. If it dies instantly, your alternator is going bad. If not, the alternator is good. Your starter may be going dead. Find it. One of the hot side battery wires goes to it. Follow the wire. Hit it a few times. See if the car will start. If the inside has power, the battery is fine. Check your igniton fuse also. It is probably your starter or starter solenoid.

sounds like the head or head gasket is blown. your cylinders may be getting coolant in them which will not only cause the motor to lockup, but also cause bent rods and valves. check your oil dipstick and transmission dipstick to see if it looks like water or coolant is presant, also check the coolant to see if it smells like gas or has any kind of oil in it, if so, your head is likely blown.
