Question about 1999 Nissan Sentra
Posted by Anonymous on
I had the same problem. What you need to do is under the driver's side rear is a black gas canister unit that is supposed to filter gas in the neck. There is a check valve that you need to remove and replace or you can use WD-40 to unstick it. That valve is in the closed position so when you try to fill up the tank, the tank gets pressurized. I cleaned mine and it needs it again. The valve is around $60. I think, but could be wrong. Hope this helps,,,

There is not an airlock that will release pressure in the tank so your gage will work properly. You will need to replace the fuel sending unit.
