Was the code for an 02 sensor did you have the code pulled and was it the only code that showed up.have you checked to see if its the same code that was in it before you replaced the 02.if you have followed the instructions to reset then maybe you have missed something when resetting it and some of these have time sensitive reset limits.the best way you may have to have a scan tool to reset the light for some reason i`ve run across having to do this before.

Disconnect your positive battery cable for about 1 minute, then reconnect it, light should go out, but you will have to reset your clock, and radio functions again , due to no power to them , when cable was disconnected.

The engine light stays on, it has an 02 sensor. It may need a new cadillac converter and cv joint.

check engine light on when tested it says bad o2 sensor did you replace 02 sensor it takes driveing it so many miles before light will go off give it couple days you dont need cadillac converter check engine light will go off cv joint they click as you turn dont let a mechanic sell you something you dont need its very rare for cadillac converters to go bad its common for o2 sensors to go bad like yours did but when 02 sensors are replaced it takes driveing it for awhile before it resets itself you also have more then one 02 sensor was then wrong one replaced they screw into your exaust manifold

Check engine light came on recently. Car then

The exhaust system has two 02 sensors One before the cat converter and one after. The #2 02 behind the cat converter is the one that trips the light if emmisions are unacceptable coming out of the converter. The #1 or front 02 sensor monitors and constantly adjusts the fuel to stay within parameters. If the #2 tries to compensate for an inefficient converter and it conflicts with the #1 02, the ebgine will run poorly due to either too rich or too lean fuel adjustment. Have the #2 02 sensor replaced and the converter checked. Good luck

Need to change O2 sensor check engine light wont go off

Did you change the 02 sensor? The back one after the converter? If so, stop by a dealer, it may need to be reset. The back 02 is the one that trips the light. Keep that in mind.

also have them change the oxygen sensors, if it's deemed necessary. have someone reset the computer. if the light stays off, then you don't have to.
