SOURCE: Mazda 6 oil change

If DPF means Diesel Particulate Filter, no you don't need to change this cartridge. Somewhere near 120000Km you have to refill the additive tank with Eolys additive.

SOURCE: mazda 6 diesel wont start

Have you run the car without fuel? There must not be any air in the fuel line... Blead the fuel line of air and try to start it. There should be bleader screws under the hood....

SOURCE: how to fix and clean the mazda 5 diesel

You can clear these if less than 60% blocked by giving the car a good blast on the motorway going through the revs. If your car is on limp mode you do need to replace the particulate filter as the blockage is too much to regenerate. "I have a Mazda Bongo Brawny RF6C Diesel Engine with DPF, it showed an Engine Light, and I changed oil, oil filter, diesel Filter. I started it it picked but the engine light did not go...and I tried

you are going to have to plug in a diagnostic reader and find out what the problem is or to shut off the light . You could also drive it for 300KM and it should reset itself

I have seat Ibiza 1.6 tdi year 2010 which has flashing glow plug light on dashboard

if your vehicle is fitted with a diesel particulate filter which is not to be confused with an ordinary catalytic convertor it will need to have what is known as a regeneration on a motorway or dual carriageway in third or fourth gear drive at a constant speed of 50-80 kph keeping your rpm between 2350-3000 for approx. ten to fifteen minutes this tells the ecu to pre inject fuel and post inject fuel to make your exhaust gases hotter to burn out all the deposits in your diesel particulate filter if you don't have a dpf
you may need a new catalytic convertor
or you can buy a solution that you add to your fuel to clean them out but find out if you have a dpf first because if you don't you need the solution for cleaner emissions if you do you need the solution for your dpf to burn hotter
hope this helps

I have a 55 plate Mazda 3 with a Error Code of P2584 Fuel Additive Control Module Requested MIL Illumination. Any pointers as to the possible fault?

Hi there:
This means the DPF additive needs topping up/re-filling. This additive is injected into the engine with the diesel to clean out the DPF filter (automatic system).

These fault codes appear when the additive level has dropped too low preventing the automatic injection of additive.

The cure is to have the additive re-filled, and the DPF 'primed' using Mazda diagnostic equipment.

Check HERE additional details.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Thank you for using FixYa, have a nice day.

Had about 4 gal of diesel in tank and someone put 5 galons of gas in tank. Drove a mile and stopped for not sure how long. Went back out to start and would not start.

it all depends on how much diesel remained in the tank before the gasoline was added, and how new and sophisticated the diesel engine is. In a 2007 or newer clean diesel engine, any amount of gasoline will probably damage the sensitive emissions control components (DPF, OxyCat and SCR) and system. In older engines with much less sophisticated and "touchy" emissions systems, a lightly diluted (say 90 percent diesel/10 percent gasoline) mix would probably pass through with little or no detriment. It might simply cause reduced engine power, perhaps a bit more noise, and possibly a sharp warning from the emissions sensors that detect something other than pure diesel exhaust. It's high concentrations of gasoline that spell real trouble. Whether a modern clean CRD diesel or an old indirect injection unit, burning straight gasoline or highly diluted diesel fuel will almost certainly result in catastrophic damage to the mighty diesel engine.

Why does the dpf light keep coming on my masda

I've found the following info at mazdaforum.com , which I will reproduce word for word:

If the Diesel Particulate Filter indicator illuminates continuously - Drive the vehicle at an engine speed of 2000rpm or higher and a vehicle speed of 40Km/h (25mph) or more for about 10 to 15 minutes to remove the particulate matter. The engine sound and smell may change as the particulate material is being removed.

If the Diesel Particulate Filter indicator flashes - Take your vehicle to a Mazda Authorised Repairer as soon as possible to prevent damage.
