in each of those "holes" which are flanking the center hatch there is a screw in the bottom. remove those screws. then its pretty simple, yank out. the connectors to the actual hatch are in there really tight, so its kinda scarey on how much force you need to pull out. but it will just pop right out. be careful and keep a watchful eye out to where it connects to upper trim piece, it bends pretty easy... trust me i know

Hey Irene..my name is Keith..i dont know where you live..but if you live in the US..you can go to an AutoZone or an AdvanceAuto Parts or a PepBoys auto parts store and buy the strut and they will put it on for free..i hope this helps..if not please write me back
