If your tank is low enough you can put premium gas in it if not drive it long enough that its down to a half a tank or lower and put premium gas in it,other than this little problem that's all you can do and it will not hurt the motor.be glad you didn`t put diesel in it.

Regular is not causing your problem, while it is recommended that you use premium fuel, it will adjust timing for regular-your issue is something else. If it stalls at a light, is there any check engine light? Things that might cause this are Idle Air Control valve, the Throttle Position Sensor-it might also just need a good old-fashioned tune-up, plugs, plugs wires, air filter, oil change. fuel filter-since you just bought it, you have no real way of knowing what is good and what isn't, so you should either find a honest mechanic or do the work yourself. I have a 2001 Aurora, they are great cars and have great engines, but they can be a challange to work on, so first determine if the basic stuff is good-air filter, clean the throttle body, if the plugs and plug wires are old, change them. that's a good start, from there if you need an IAC or TPS, local junk yards are full of them (they use Caddy components too) so you can save a lot that way.

Do you have to use premium gas in the 1997 aurora

You can use regular fuel. The ignition system on your vehicle is controlled by the computer which will ****** the timing if low octane fuel would cause spark knock, also called pinging. Even high compression late model cars can run on regular fuel because of the computerized knock sensors. I doubt that you'll notice any difference in driveability or performance on regular fuel.

Idleing speed on 1995 aurora

My car did that once as well i let it run for about 10 minutes and it stopped. Come to find out it did that because it was cold and needed to warm up. This will only happen if you press the gas in all the way. FYI: Be careful putting it in gear. I almost drove thre my garage!

Aurora 1995 oldsmobile

1995 Auroras have a potential, under the hood, fire problem. the fuel rail (transfers fuel to the injectors) can split and spray gas on your hot engine. There is a recall to correct this problem at no cost to you. Follow-up on this recall, even if you do not have a gas smell problem. IT IS VERY DANGEROUS and the fix is no cost to you. The dealership even towed my car. It was too dangerous to drive.
