Question about Honda Accord

2 Answers

When i test drove a 2004 honda accord lx 4cyl late tues evening the air was not cool. I stopped by a auto mechanics place and he said the air compressor looked as if it was a used junk yard compressor but wasnt sure and could be a couple of things as to why it was not cool and to have the dealer make good on fixing that before we bought it. The dealer said he would have that taken care of when we returned the next day to have the papers signed by 2. When we returned the next day at 2, it was ready and we test drove it for 15 minutes again before we actually signed on it and the air was cool. The next day when we was driving it the air was not cooling again. I dont understand what he could have done to make it work for a day and why is it doing this again?

Sounds like it has a refrigerant leak. the dealer must have filled it with refrigerant without fixing the leak. i would take it back to them and make them fix it correctly. if you want you could add some dyed refrigerant to it yourself and try to find where the leak is. then make them replace that part.

You must perform an engine control module fault code test as well as test the fuel pressure, if no codes are present and fuel pressure is ok check for a defective camshaft drive belt.

Problem 1998 Accord idle with AC on. My 1998 Honda Accord, 4cyl, auto trans has only about 90,000miles. Lately it has been coughing/sputtering when I stop at light or sign. Fine when driving/moving. O

If the idle air control valve is dirty, it may not be boosting base idle enough to cover the loss for the a/c. You may need to have the throttle body cleaned.

AC drain pipe would be the first place to get fixed. Compressed Air into the AC drain pipe should dislodge any blockage.
If your windows fog up when the heater is on it could still be the ac drain pipe as the water sits on top of the heater and then turns to steam when you try to heat up the heating .
A heater core is an extremely expensive repair as it is labour intensive repair

is the radiator low on coolant? dont think you have a bad head gasket, does sound more like a bad cooling fan and/or thermostat

there are 2 fans 1 for the ac that only comes on when the ac is on thats normal.and the radiator fan that comes on when it reaches 160' to 180'degrees only on electric fans.u might have to reposition the wires on the fan.
