  3. remove the cables and wires for solenoid on starter.
  4. remove the 2 bolts holding starter to bell housing.
  5. starter falls out.
  6. reverse above.

Fuel gauge doesn t work

Most of the time it is the sending unit in the fuel tank.Remove the connection from the fuel tank, and using a test light, test the wires that you removed from the fuel tank. Clip the alligator clip on the test light to a good known ground, and use the probe on the test light to touch the terminals in the connector you unplugged.Make sure the ignition key is turned to the on position, right before start position.Have someone to watch the gauge. At this point the gauge should be showing past the full position. When touching the right terminal in the connector you removed from the tank, the fuel gauge should move down toward the empty mark.If this fuel gauge doe do this when you are testing it,then the gauge in the dash is good and the sending unit is bad.

Parasitic drain 2005 avalanche

remove the positive cable from your battery then connect a test light in between the cable and the terminal of the battery. at this point it will be lit up. if you have an under hood light the bulb will need to be removed as well as the radio fuse and unplug any thing from the cigar lighter. remove the dome light fuse. if the test light is still lit up then you have a parasitic drain. the first thing i would do is remove the large red wire from the back of the alternator as a shorted field is the most common form of parasitic draw, if the test light is still on and are sure that everything is off and unplugged then start removing fuses one by one while checking if the test light is still on. once the test light goes off then you have found the circuit that is causing the draw. repair will depend on the circuit

I have a 94 crown Vic how do I know if my head gasket mis. Up

Hello There are several ways to check. The easiest is an Electronic cylinder balance test. The engine is run and the Testing machine disables the spark to the cylinders, one by one.

This allows the Testing machine to determine how much work each cylinder is doing. If the head gasket is messed up, the Testing machine will show it.

The above test is easier to perform than a compression test and does not involve removing the sparkplugs. You can always verify the Electronic test with the old fashion compression test. You do not have to remove both heads to fix your engine unless the tests reveal both are bad.

Before doing this work, you may want to take off the metal Airhorn and clean the grooves beneath the Airhorn gasket. There are only 8 bolts holding this part on, once you remove the plastic Air duct from the Airfilter. The gasket costs $10. The groove is important to the EGR system and can make a big difference in performance. It may be causing the problem instead of the heads.

I hope my solution is very helpful to you.

1992 Chavy Cavalier 2.2L engine. No Spark

This could be a few things, you will need to do some testing, fist check all grounds and connections to crank sensor and the module also remove computer connector and make sure pins on connector and computer are good and not broken, from there remove the module and have it tested. a lab scope would be needed to test crank sensor and a multimeter to test coils, this is going to take some testing you could have a bad module or crank sensor or coils or computer,

The battery is being drained, we think possibly the starter, but the two bolts we removed will not allow us to take the starter out so that we can get it tested.

TO FIND THE DRAIN ON YOUR BATTERY. USE A SIMPLE 12 VOLT TEST LIGHT. REMOVE ONE BATTERY CABLE FROM THE BATTERY. CONNECT TEST LIGHT TO THE CABLE YOU REMOVED FROM THE BATTERY AND THEN CONNECT THE OTHER END OF THE TEST LIGHT TO THE BATTERY POST THAT YOU REMOVED THE CABLE FROM. IF THERE IS A DRAIN ON THE BATTERY THE TEST LIGHT WILL LIGHT UP. WHEN DOING THIS TEST MAKE SURE EVERYTHING IS OFF THAT MAY CAUSE A DRAIN ON THE BATTERY. DOME LIGHT, HOOD LIGHT ECT. IF THE TEST LIGHT LIGHTS UP REMOVE FUSES ONE AT A TIME UNTIL LIGHT GOES OUT. IF LIGHT DOES NOT GO OUT UNPLUG ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS UNDER THE HOOD UNTIL THE LIGHT GOES OUT. WHEN THE LIGHT DOES GO OUT YOU HAVE FOUND WHERE THE SHORT/DRAIN IS LOCATED.

You do not have to remove the alternator to have it tested, your local autoparts store will be able to test your system with it still in the car. Hope this helps :)
