Question about 1997 Volkswagen Jetta
The first step is that if you tried to install code more than four times incorrectly it will lock you out, the way you will know if its locked is that it will not say code but rather lock or loc on the display, if this is what you see then you will need to leave the radio on for at least 1 hour without touching it, make sure its on, you may need to hook a battery charger to it or leave engine running to avoid a dead battery, after an hour the display will say code , now its ready for the code, you will use the preset staition buttons to enter the code, starting withthe first digit, for example you will hit the preset number that the code is, for example if the code was 4112 you would push preset 4 the the button 1 then 1 then button 2 and radio will turn on. good day.
