Hi, I have an A-4 (2004) 3.0 quatro. At what mileage do I need to get the timing belt changed? I believe my car is a 6-cylinder, is that correct?

4 or 6 cylinder? Sounds like the timing belt may have gone, 6 cylinder has belt while the 4's have a chain. Chains have to be extremely high mileage or beat hard before you should have an issue.

How tor eplace timing belt

good luck on this one the timing belt on Volvo is very important & IMHO I would not attempt this as if it go's or not fitted correctly your talking big bill to repair I had my dealer do mine the kit consists of timing belt , adjuster & jockey wheel, & its advisable depending on mileage to change the water pump also to change the aux belt along with its adjuster & jockey & to check free wheeling pulley if on your model & I believe that Volvo say 108,000 miles or 6 years old whatever comes first for this service hope this helps

How to change plugs on an audi A6 2.7t quatro

Remove complete airbox and valve cover shield, for passenger side. Unmount and move coolant tank away from work area of driver side. No need to drain coolant. Unscrew pre-turbo boost pipes, with single 10mm bolt located on lower cylinder bank of each side, to unbolt cylinder #1 and #4 coilpacks. Install is reverse of removal. Make sure both boost pipes are back on correctly - otherwise, a no-start condition will occur.

My local chrysler garage are telling me that it's time to change the cam belt on my grand cherokee 2.7CRD. I believe it has a chain rather than a belt, is that correct? and if so at what mileage should it...

If it is a chain, it doesn't need to be replaced. If it is a belt, then you are ready for it, but watch them like a hawk. More cars get screwed up by idiots doing this simple job than all other jobs. I had an engine blow from a simple timing belt change, and the guy denied it was his fault. I said Pete! you didn't work on the brakes!! You ****!! Anyway, I ate it! Hope this helps.

Does my 2002 Camry have a time belt or timing chain?

If it is a 4 cylinder it has a chain. If it is a 6 cylinder it has a belt.

2000 626.It will turn over but doesn't seem to be firing.I'm not sure if it's not getting gas or spark. It hadn't been driven for a couple of days.

I have this car in the V-6. It is the Cadillac of Mazdas.

1. I need to know the mileage.
2. When it turns over, does it turn over normally, or very fast?
3. Has the timing belt ever been changed? How long ago?
4. Is it a 4 or 6 cylinder?

Belt or Chain

Yes those vehicles have timing belts instead of chains. I have yet to see a timing belt that doesnt need to be changed at some point. Maybe the tech meant you didnt need to change them now. Each manufacturer has their own mileage interval, but generally speaking, anywhere between 60,000 and 90,000 miles they are due to be replaced.

Timing chain maintenance

It's actaully a timing belt, not a chain. But the mileage recommendation i believe is 60,000 or 90,000 miles.

When to replace the timing belt on a 2002 audi a4 1.8T

Audi 4 cylinder engines must have timing belt replaced as soon as 75,00 miles but no later than 105,000 miles. When doing job properly the mechanics should be replacing belt, tensioners, rollers, waterpump, thermostat and gasket. Average price would be around $900-$1200 US dollars.

2003 Honda Civic -LX Timing belt

90000 Miles on the Timing Belt. Do not let this go! A timing belt failure can cause internal engine problems.

Should cost around 200 or so, depending upon your local labor rates.

Good Luck!
