I would be willing to bet the crank sensor is bad. There may be a pending code in the computer, but would have to be scanner to find out. You could try to watch the RPM while cranking when it doesn't start to see if it moves, but it may still be to low to register on the dash. Having a scanner do diagnose this is the best solution unfortunately.

Loud ticking noise when first staring, engine stalls sometimes when starting it unless I hold the gas pedal down

The TPS would be what I would do had that problem once myself solved the problem. as for the ticking noise sounds like a lifter is bleeding down as long as the noise goes away you will be ok. But may I suggest that if you are going to keep the vehicle for awhile longer you might want to have a set of lifters put in it.

94 trailblazer runs really rough for awhile after sitting ,after running awhile its starts to run fine (worse on cold days) help please!!!

Have a pressure bleed down test run on the fuel pump, that is the most common problem that causes this condition.

Dodge durango stalls after starting

There may be a fault code or codes stored, though. Have an engine scan done for trouble codes as a first step in diagnosis. If no codes are present, I would start by investigating the idle circuit-clean the throttle body and have the IAC (idle air control) tested for proper operation. Good luck.

2000 Durango,No code thats okay we have the symptom that all we need. Stall when hot.So it stall at idle or if you decelerate then it also stalls.and it start right up. The 2000 Durango is equipt with a ISC (idle speed control motor) and this is mounted on the throttle body. This maintains a target idle speed. The ISC also uses a desired MAP for deceleration.Your solution is a throttle body cleaning,or a ISC (idle speed control) motor. This is the only thing that can cause what is described

I have a 2000 dodge durango 5.2 v8. The battery, alternator, tensioner pulley are all brand new. I had two censors replaced, a tune up, clutch fan, water pump all new but the amps still wont keep a charge...

It sounds like you have a bad PCM (computer). The computer controls the charging system as well as the idle speed. For this year of Durango this is the most likely cause. To test it fully you will need a wiring diagram, meter and a scanner would be a big help.

Car stalling out and bot starting after being driven for awhile.

mcdevito75 Here, It"s possible the ignition Module is going bad, no way to test and if so, one day the car will not start at all.----------It can also be a vapor loc, wher the fuel is evaporating before it reaches the cylinders. Best Bet, have your local shop check both these items.
