Question about 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan

Any time that I take my foot off the gas it downshifts. I just had the trany serviced and they said that I have no shavings in the fluid. is there a sensor or something that could be causing this?

There is probably a check eng light on? if so u need to pull transmission codes an see which component is failing. could b a faulty speed sensor or even a faulty trans computr.only way to b sure is chek codes .these trans are electric shift nowadays and vulnerable to sensor failure

Check the fluid level with the motor running and at running temp. Level and if there are metal shavings. If level is good and no shavings then may just need a tranny flush.

Need to fix the slipping on an automatic transmission

change the trany fluid and filter. get some lucas transmission treatment and put it in before you put your trany fluid in. after all fluids are in and everything is together start the vehicle and hold foot on brake and go through the gears it might slip a lil the first 5 min of driving or until fluid works through trany.

When I hit the gas, my engines hesitates and the rpms go up, btu I dont move, is this a bad trains?

Could be, how is the trani fluid level and color? Trani fluid should be changed every 20k miles. Was the trani fluid serviced recently, if so can you verify that the correct trani fluid type was used?

Well, I would check the fluid. IF the fluid has metal shavings, dark in color , burnt odor.
The fluid should be light red in color.
Sometimes a fluid change service to the transmission can clear up a lot of problems and very cost effective vs. a complete transmision.
I would try and take it to local transmission shop.

Tranmission

try changes the filter for the trany and put new trany oil in there! Look at the fluid when it comes out ans see if you see metal or if the old fluid looks like it has metal shavings in it!! You might have burnt the bands up in the trany

Problem solved!!

I had a tuner go over the wiring. He found a loose ground wire and grounded it properly. The transmission has been shifting correctly ever since!!! It felt like a mechanical problem, and acted like a mechanical problem, but it was just a loose ground wire.

Let this be a heads up on VW transmissions!

Thankfully it was only a loose ground wire and not a $5,000 trany!!
