Make sure to first check the ground at your battery... Sometimes overlooking the simplest thing is the problem.

SOURCE: I've got a Mitsubishi 2006

Hello Fareed.

The code that is setting is accelerator pedal position sensor failure.
When this code sets it does a "failsafe" to prevent it from going full throttle.

TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS (The most likely causes for this code to be set are:)

  • Accelerator pedal position sensor failed or maladjusted.
  • Open or shorted accelerator pedal position sensor circuit, or connector damage.
  • ECM failed.
  • PCM failed.

There are several required special tools for this repair. The average handy man usually won't have these available.

MB991958: Scan Tool (MUT-III Sub Assembly)

MB991824: V.C.I.

MB991827: USB Cable

MB991911: Main Harness B

I would highly suggest you take it to a mechanic capable of doing this repair for you.

Thank you for using FixYa.

SOURCE: After starting car check engine

Diagnosis must begin with scanning your Engine Control Module to find out why it has turned the light on. The car may seem to be running OK, but there is probably a problem that is causing you to use excessive fuel and/or is threatening to destroy some high dollar parts like your catalytic converter.

Evo 7 gta auto, loss of power when putting your foot down, revs seem to go high but there is no real response with the boost. 1 garage seems to think its electrical and another thinks it may be the torque...

its the clutch. all evo VII comes with faulty clutch. just do some research over the internet and you will find out. its time for a stronger and better aftermarket clutch that can withstand all that heat it generates.
