Your battery is dead. Have a friend with "jumper cables" jump you off . Or, if you can't find anyone with jumper cables, get a ride to the auto parts store or Walmart and buy yourself a set. Then have your ride jump you off. After you've read the instructions attached to the cables ,of coarse...

1999 passat 2.8 v6, ignition key left on too long without engine running. Thanks chadtonline, Ya thats the first thing I checked, battery three months old though and was slightly low in charge so put battery on trickle charge over night. Headlights are bright but still won't turn over. Checked all fuses, all are good and yes I did try and jump it : ) Thanks for any help you can offer

The engine will not turn at all, even when attempting a jump start ? If this is the case, it could be a starter issue.

Expedition door open light stays on most of the time.

spray wd-40 in the latch on the doors then slam them a few times to loosen the switch on the latch that turns the light on with the key in the ignition and doors close if the chime rings like the key was left in the ignition then start with the drivers door

well if you have a dvom/voltmeter check the power at the starter terminals. the main terminal should have power all the time the key wire should have power only when the key is turned to crank engine. if you have power at both then i would start looking at grounds

Minivan has no interior power or lights without key on

There are three possible situations I can think of. 1, there are usually switches on the main interior light that can be turned off to stop the lights from coming on when the door is opened unless the ignition is on. 2. There is a problem with the ECM or Alarm that was installed. 3. There is a fuse out. Check your fuses on the interior and under the hood of the vehicle.

Engine won't crank, module problem?

It seem like a bad ignition switch the way you describe it, does the dashboard lights up when you turn the ignition switch on?

Front door locks on a 99 passat

You have the wrong KEY if it won't turn any locks.
You can use the KEY fob from another Passat.
The one you have was most likey not the original
and the car was reprogrammed to except that FOB.

The Fuse panel Is inside the DRIVES side.
Open the Driver door. Look at the side of the DAShboard.
THat Giant "B" Shapped plastic cover pops off.

Check the fuses...IF any are broken, black or no good.
REplace them

Hope this helps
