I have a 1995 Pontiac transport light go dim or off and on when driving at night also low battery replaced alt about 1 or 2 years ago

vehicles: Any with headlight(s) going dim/off (day or night).

Even if your battery is barely strong enough to start the car (that's all a battery is really needed for anyway - once started, your TranSport will run without a battery), the alternator should provide enough Volts/Amps to light the headlights fully and steadily. The symptom you're having tells me that your vehicle has either a problem with the alternator or the voltage regulator which is an integral component of the alternator.

Secondary items to check: loose wiring harness to one or more headlights.

Tertiary items to check: possible beginning of failure in headlight switch.

In the US., one can drive to an Advance Auto Parts/AutoZone/Pep Boys and get a free "charging system check", which is done without removing any components of the car. You simply turn on the car and the technician checks the car while it idles in the parking lot. This check will tell you if you have a weak alternator.
Also, a battery can be disassembled out of the car and load tested in an in-store battery tester by the same auto parts stores.

For your next posting (where you may be asking how to replace the alternator), look up the 8th digit of your 1995 TranSport's VIN code:

2002 Pontiac Grand prix wont start; unable to remove key

On many cars, if the battery is dead, it locks the key in the ignition. Put a battery charger on the car or replace the battery and give it a shot.

Good luck.

Check the battery voltage. At rest it should be 12 to 13 volts.
Cranking should not drop below 10 to 10.5 volts.

1996 grand am wont start

the battery is dead, it's as simple as that. the battery only needs a tiny bit of power to turn on the interior lights and panel lights, but it does not have enough to dis-engage park lock out electric solenoid.

Car won't start

Check the lever for putting the car in park/drive.
If the switch/sensor that detects where it is at (i.e. P, R, N, D, 2, 1) is broken or loose, it may think the car is not in Park and cars with automatic transmissions will not start unless they are in Park.
It might also be the starter is bad.
