Engine light is on my 2002 freelander the codes P1155,p1472,p1477 and p 0171 came on what could the cause be?

Hi,

Code P0128 means Coolant Thermostat Malfunction.

Code P1477 means Additional Fan Relay Circuit Malfunction.

Code P1472 means Electrodrive Fan 2 Operational Failure (Passengers side)

When you get that many codes and the drivability issues as well,you most likely have a single item pulling down the computer,so to speak.
You need, as you have done, list what the codes are,possible fixes,based on a trouble chart ,you won't have.
Then you need to do three things.
Have a complete vehicle wiring schematic.
Check what does work
Use logic, and do a few tests of suspected areas, if you don't get what you should,you enter the schematic and work your way back to find out why.

In your case,a very good diagnostic repair shop will be what you want.
