Question about 2001 Audi A6

1 Answer

I recently changed the battery in my 2001 Audi A6. I'm having the radio safe mode issue, but working on it. My main concern is that now my trunk won't open. Not by remote nor with key. I unlock it, but when I try to open it locks automatically. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Each radio has a code about 13 digits and maybe a couple letters mixed in with it. You have to get code from original manual. I heard if you lose it its very difficult to get.again but is possible. Its only a safety procedure in case someone else stole the radio it won't work for them.

Hi, i removed battery from my audi a6 2001 and now my radio is in safe mode. i think i have the right code but do not know how to enter it, please help!

IMPORTANT NOTE:
You must have the security anti-theft code for your Audi radio from the car manufacturer, or from an Audi dealer!

You can find the radio code at: http://www.radio-code.co.uk/

The sequence of programming for 2001 Audi A6 radio is:
1. Push simultaneous "SCAN" and "RDS" keys until on the screen will appear "1000" displayed.
2. Release keys. No more push on "SCAN" and "RDS" keys because otherwise number "1000" will be considered as first safe code attempt.
For example: we have the security code "5079". Then:
3. By the no.# 1 key you will set up the first safe code digit. Push 5 times on the no.# 1 button. The "5" number will be setted.
4. By the no.# 2 key you will set up the second safe code digit. Push 10 times on the no.# 2 button. The "0" number will be setted.
5. By the no.# 3 key you will set up the third safe code digit. Push 7 times on the no.# 3 button. The "7" number will be setted.
6. By the no.# 4 key you will set up the four-th safe code digit. Push 9 times on the no.# 4 button. The "9" number will be setted.
7. Then push again simultaneous "SCAN" and "RDS" keys for confirm this safe code. On the screen will be displayed "SAFE" notice. Release keys! For few seconds a radio frequence will be displayed.

The radio is now ready for use!

Just recently my battery died and I got a change in now my Radio is in cd safe mode. The radio or cd wont come on or work. When I bought the Audi A6 Quatt, 2000 it did nt have a manuel book. So I'm just...

You need to call dealer and provide your VIN# for the code. It's a theft deterrent issue and dealer is only source. After you get code write it down in glovebox w/Sharpie for future refs.

I have a 2001 Audi A6 symphony 4b0 035 195A, auz5z4y0144932 with safe mode on can anyone retrieve the unlock code for me, I bought the car and the guy didn't give me the code, thanks!

The radio code is only obtainable from an Audi dealer. They would have to e -mail Audi with the vehicle details and the radio serial no to get the radio code. They would then enter the code for you.

2002 audi a6 transmission is in safe mode. What

hi, what it usually mean is that you have shifted down in to a lower gear whilst the revs where to high so then your gearbox goes into safe mode to protect it from further damage the only way to reset this is to take the car to a main dealers and have a diagnostic check done.

Let me know how you get on or if you need further assistance ok

1998 Audi A6 Quattro radio in safe mode

Er. That is why it is a *code*.
"There can only be one".

If you have no pin code you will have to pay the dealer to look it up in the database. If your radio is in the original vehicle, that should not be an issue.

I have never heard of anyone successfully 'hacking' an Audi radio code....

Audi A6 2001 SAFE Audio system

if the radio is the original one you can get the original code from audi for a small fee. if its been replaced you can send it in for decoding on an internet site that do decoding for a fee. or you could be lucky and its written on the unit, but you will need to remove it to find out.
