SOURCE: Airbags deployed

You have to disconnect the battery, replace the air bag modules (air bag modules are the things that explode in your face) and the crash sensors and the control unit or module that came with it. Reconnect the battery and the car should start. Hope this is helpful.

SOURCE: driver's airbag light on 2007 PT Cruiser convertable

The first code is for "driver seat track position sensor low". The module detects that the sensor input is less than or equal to 0.3 mA. The second code is referring to the first code. I have no idea what the third code is. Basically you have two different communication systems mixed. The 2001 uses the PCI bus system and the 2007 uses the CAN bus which is much faster. The first code is a CAN bus code and the second is a PCI code. As far as the airbag deploying in the event of a collision, I don't believe it will with an active code in the system. I hope this helps.

I got into an accident and my airbag deployed can I replace it with an ordinary steering rack?

Generally, the airbag module can be replaced. It is highly recommended that a dealer service dept perform this service! You normally don't have to replace the whole steering wheel or system.

Airbag light stays on 1996 saab 900s what to do

The most common cause for your air bag light is a faulty sensor. In this condition, the airbag cannot be depended upon to deploy in a collision. In almost every case, replacing the airbag sensor will solve your issue.

If the airbag has been deployed, is is necessary to REPLACE the airbag (SRS) ECU. It is located below the center console. (See picture) It must be replaced because on your vehicle, it contains the crash sensors. If you do not replace it and hook-up new airbags and turn the key on, the new airbags will immediately deploy. There is no way to "reset" it.

How do I remove the horn assembly and air bag on a 2209 corolla. my daughter dropped a quarter in behind there?

Much care needs to be exercised when working on / around the air bag to prevent accidental deployment. For example, an electrostatic discharge from your body can deploy the airbag.

If you're not experienced / comfortable doing jobs like this, I'd suggest taking it to a shop.

The procedure is roughly ::

First disconnect the battery ground (negative) cable and wait 30 minutes before beginning -- this will reduce the probability of deploying the airbag (allows capacitors to completely discharge).

There are 2-3 recessed screws on the back side of the steering wheel -- remove these. The center of the steering wheel should then come off -- if it doesn't check for other screws.

If you need to remove the airbag, the wire leads will have to be unplugged.

You might be able to remove the coin without completely removing the airbag.

Here's a link discussing airbag deactivation ::

My airbags blew i need to replace them

You need to replace your "airbag diagnostic monitor", and the "airbag sensors" as well as the airbags.

Once your airbags have been deployed, the airbag sensors may be damaged and may cause deployment for no appearant reason. You must replace the airbag diagnostic monitor, because it's internal thermal fuse blows upon deployment, and will not deploy a new airbag.

If you purchase airbags, and related parts from a salvage yard, make sure the diagnostic monitor is the same model as the one in your vehicle (the model number is on top of the unit, the manufacturing date is listed last and is irrellevant), but ford does use the same unit in most vehicles of the same year.

To replace the system, disconnect your negative battery cable and wait 1 minute before doing anything. Your airbag system is designed to be able to deploy for 1 minute after a power failure, so do wait 1 minute before doing anything.

In a 1995, your airbag diagnostic monitor is located inside the vehicle, center console area, under the heater and blower control assembly. It is a silver box that has 2 wire clips connected to it, and is retained with a couple 10mm bolts. (Don't get it confused with the larger computer that is under the radio area, the monitor is behind the computer)

Your 2 sensors are located in the front of the grill area, and 1 is in the driver wheel well area. All are held in by a few bolts, and have a long wire clip attached.

The driver airbag is held in by 2 bolts that are easily accessed on the back of the steering wheel, then a couple wire clips inside the steering wheel.

The passenger airbag is held in by 4 bolts that are accessed, by removing the glove compartment, and a wire clip behind the airbag in the dash area.

Airbags blow with extreme power and can be as dangerous as helpful. If you intend on doing the work yourself, follow the instructions carefully.

Install everything in reverse, and DO NOT HOOK UP THE BATTERY UNTIL THE REPAIR IS FULLY COMPLETED!

I hope this helps you, and I wish you luck on your repair.

you will need to disconnect batt and wait 5 min,remove airbag fuse then pump brake pedal.this will depower the airbag system.then unplug the airbag you want to deactivate.hook batt back up,reinstall airbag fuse.with an airbag disconnected the airbag light will be on.
make sure you depower the airbag system before unpluging any airbag,or the airbag may deploy causing severe personal injury.work safe.
