Question about 2003 Ford Expedition

1 Answer

2003 for expedition. I have a continuous clicking sound coming from the back of my SUV. Its not the heater door because that has already been fixed and the noise is constant when the tuck is running. It really sounds like a pump running. I was told that it was my fuel pump but I thought the fuel pump was in the tank. Any ideas? I've owned this since it was new.

The fuel pump is in the tank but if it gets loud enough it can be heard inside the car. try take off the gas cap and putting your ear to the tank and see if sounds like it is coming from within

I only have luke warm air coming out my ford expedition (2002) does NOT overheat ! i had it flushed out and new anti freeze put in . still kuke warm air

When you said you had it flushed out, were you talking about the radiator or the heater core. The heater core is a miniature radiator. It can get gummed up just like the big one. You will probably have to remove the heater core and have it rodded out by a radiator shop. If you have done that already then there is a problem with the regulator for the heater. Usually it is a simple valve type open and close system to allow more or less hot water into the heater core.

When we turn heat or air on it makes a thumping sound in the back of the suv?

If you have rear heating in your SUV, the sound may be the gate valve(s) switching positions, if it does have a gate valve, there may be some thing jamming it up. if you have kids/ or a lot of tools or stuff that you carry in the back, it is possible that something got inside the housing for the unit (may also be jamming the fan for it as well).
is the "thump" continuous or does it just happen when you first turn it on? look under the rear seat (usually on the passenger side) for anything that may be up against the unit (also look to see if the units' housing is crushed)

What fuse is for the drivers door keypad an a 2003 expedition

In the fuse diagram for the 2003 Ford Expedition, a fuse is not indicated specifically for the "Door Keypad"; However it does show which fuse is needed for the Door Lock and Door Lock/Unlock Relay. Fuse location 30, Fuse amp rating 30a.

If you already have a manual, you will find this information in the table of contents under "Roadside Emergencies" fuses and relays.

If you do not have a user manual, you can download one at http://www.motorcraftservice.com

On the menu to your left, click on "Owner Guides".
In the drop down menus click on the year and the model.
Below those drop down menus is another drop down menu, click which Owner Guide you want. I clicked on "1st printing", as well as "2nd printing". The fuse info was the same on both.

2003 Ford Expedition Heater not working

This is all to common an issue in many Fords starting in the mid 90's, reason they went to a electric motor to control the air blend door , this motor moves the door air that diverts heat or cold from the AC, or mixes or blends it,the motor has failed or the door is stuck in the air duct, the bottom line is that to fix either problem the dash must be removed, no a job for the home mech, takes about 10-15 hrs to complete.
