95 dodge van, 2500. has a BAD engine miss, seems to smooth out when going up hill (giving it some gas) gets bad again when just going cruise speed..

Well to start with, if you have a 1995 Dodge van and it has the original engine, you have a fuel injector for each cylinder. The last year Dodge used a carb was 1987.
So you could have injectors that are not working, or the plugs may not be firing because of the cap or rotor, or it could be a compression or vac problem.
I would want to know which cylinders and then go down the list of possible causes. You should be able to use a vac gauge or tach and pull one wire at a time to find the weak cylinders.

Van running like its missing

the problem is not in the plugs , wires , cap , rotor but in dirty injectors or injector controls and wires
use a quality injector cleaner for a few tanks of fuel
ECM controlled cars do not a tune up as the computer does that 60 times a minute so all you need to do is to run the fault codes and fix the faulty sensors
fault codes are being recorded all the time and only the serious engine or transmission faults put the engine light on

My 1994 ford e350 is used for my motor home. It has a slight miss when driving. i replaced the air and fuel filter, also had the cabon cleaned out of the carbs. I have know purchased plugs and wires and...

When it comes time to change the plugs and wires and distributor cap do the cap and rotor first. Remove the old cap with the wires still attached. Put the new cap and rotor on the distributor and transfer the old wires one at a time. Make sure both caps are lined up in regards to mounting position on the distributor. The cap will only mount one way. When you have this done then you can do the plugs and new wires, again one at a time. This way, when you are done the van should start right up and purr like a kitten. Hope this helps.

I have a 1995 E350, 5.8, 130k miles. Always well maintained. Replaced Plugs, Cap & Rotor, Fuel Filter & Air Cleaner prior to a 3,500 mile trip. Now, 3 weeks have passed, van starts & seems to...

Maybe the timing is off, could ir be that you accidently moved the distributor while replacing the cap and rotor? If you have acces to a timing light give it a try. Good Luck.

Codes 12, 21, 34 and 55 show up

Code 21 is the oxygen sensor.. code 12 means the begining of the test. Disregard code 12. It just means you previously disconnected the battery.
55 is end of message. It just means that the test is done and there are no more codes.

All I could find on 34 is this and it doesn't fir your yr.. 34 (1987-1991) speed control shorted or open

I have had two Caravans. a 1993 and 1995.. check your spark plugs and wires.. they can come loose. If you need a new sensor and don't have a lot of money .. go to the wrecking yard.. I look for Vans that were in accidents because that means they were running .. alot of these vans sit because of bad trannys.. beware of one that looks like it has been sitting awhile.. If you are going to do work on your van get a Haynes or Clymer Manual.. This is the first thing I get when I get a "new" used car.. in the past 40 yrs I have rarely taken my cars to the shop if I have the time to work on them myself.. it seems just a normal tune up these days starts at $300 and all they do is change the wires, plugs and cap.. .. 96 s-10 4.3, the truck idle's fine. Runs under a load fine, but when I hold the throttle steady I get a miss.. It will run like that until it sets code po300.. it has new wire's, plugs, cap rotor.

You can't hold the throttle as steady as the pcm sees it. You may have a miss fire if the Generic 300 Code applies to your veh. You need a professional scanner and better yet oscilloscope on the Throttle Position Sensor under the conditions you were able to create.
