The wiring or one of these listed above has a short . Disconnect the cooling fan control module and see if the problem goes away , if it does you need a new cooling fan control module . Do you know where it is ?

Your computer is wired for different settings from the different ign module. Also the reference wiring for eng sensors are different. Basically the eng is same but different electronic controls.

No , it's not a trans module . Do you know how the starting system works ? Do you know what a wiring diagram is ? Do you have an know how to use a volt meter ? Going here http://www.bbbind.com/free_tsb.html free wiring diagrams . You need to look an see what all is involved in the starting electrical circuit before guessing as to what the problem is .
Enter your vehicle info - year , make , model and engine size. Then under system click on engine , then under subsystem click starting .Click the search button then the blue link. Looking at the wiring diagram i see IGN E fuse 10amp , the park neutral postion switch , starter relay , IGN A fuse 40 amp . I do not see a trans module , but i do see the PCM -powertrain control module . The PCM has both trans an engine control modules in one box.
The PCM will energize the starter relay if there is no anti-theft system . Do you have a security light lit on the insturment cluster ?

I need a wiring diagram for a 1990 lincoln town care

fuel pump inside fuel tank accessed by removing plate on forward facing tank panel.
Inertia switch is inside boot/trunk
Ign module is plugged into side of distributor.
The coil is a standard 12 v ignition coil.
The ecm is located projecting through the bulkhead (firewall) by the drivers feet.
You can access the trouble codes with a scanner plugged into the socket in the engine compartment drivers side or by counting flashes of light on a 12v testing light as described in the Haines Manual

Ignition module

Hi...
The Ignition module of your Century.
Is located UNDER THE IGNITION COILS.
The ignition coils are tie on the ignition module.
But LET ME tell you, something about your problem with the battery,
The Ignition Module is the LESS posible to Drain the Battry,
Because only use 3 connector, and the Ign. module is powered
with the ignition switch, is mean when you Turn the key to OFF.
All the power of the Ign. module Cut off.
If the ignition has no power when the car is OFF, impossible
Drain the battery,

I recomend check that all the lights went off after you close all the doors. Check the glove box light, Trunk light.
Some times the Factory Radio on chevys give up this problem, If the car is equipaded with a Aftermarket alarm.
You should check the circuit.

I'm a mechanic,
I hope this help on your problem.
Thank you for use fixya...
