Question about 1998 Buick Regal

1 Answer

The low coolant light is continually on in my 1998 Buick Regal. The people at Jiffy lube tell me not to worry about it. I brought it to a mechanic today and they thought the sensor needed to be replaced. My book states that I should see an authorized dealer when it comes on. The car is just under 100,000 miles and this problem has been going on for about 25,000 miles. What does it measure, the level in the radiator or the amount of anti freeze that is contained in the radiator.

Hello: The low coolant light sensor is in the radiator tank on the passenger side. Sometimes you can take a small hammer and tap on the radiator tank next to the to the sensor. THIS HAS WORKED FOR ME SEVERAL TIMES. IF YOU HAVE TO REPLACE THE SENSOR ITS NOT THAT BIG OF JOB. You will have to drain the radiator below the sensor level. There should be a drain **** on the bottom of the tank on the drivers side. Hope this helps.

2000 buick Regal run hot and hasitate when running. no engene light.

It`s a 2000 buick regal ls. make sure when it gets hot eh fans are running. There is a coolant sensor just below the top radiator hose ON THE ENGINE. This sensor tells the fans when to go on when the engine gets hot and also serves as a low coolant sensor. unplug the sensor and replace it. use a open end or box wrench. if your quick you can replace it and only loose a few ounces of coolant. Hope this helps and God Bless :O)

Had a faulty oil filter put in by Jiffy Lube. Low oil pressure light came on after about 2000 miles into oil change. Jiffy Lube stated it was a faulty oil filter and replaced it. Drove off and light...

I can tell you that it sounds like someone is trying to take you for a ride.. I've been a mechanic for 28 years. And I've never heard of o rings going bad on a motor that only has 56000 miles. Change the oil filter again.. make sure that it's not a fram.. gram filters have been known to cause your oil pressure light come on. Hope this helps you.

1994 mercedes E320, radiator light has come on, unsure of problem as everything seems fine, any help appreciated

This usually just means the coolant level is low. If you are unsure how to check it yourself, ask a friend, or take it to a mechanic. The oil-change services (Jiffy-Lube, Q-Lube, etc.) will usually check and add coolant as part of their normal oil-change service as well, if you happen to be needing an oil change too.

Low coolant sensor on a 1998 buick

The coolant sensor should be located near where the upper radiator hose is attached to the engine and has a wire connector on it with 2 wires. It's the only sensor near there. Then there's the sensor that'll be attached to your reservoir tank somewhere along the firewall

Sensors went bad, at 60 k miles, is this covered in warranty

you need to take the vehicle to a real mechanic. Jiffy lube employes are not mechanics. Change your oil at jiffy lube and get mechanical work done at a reputable auto dealer or mechanic shop.

Low Coolant light flashing on 1996 Buick Regal 3.8

The low coolant sensor should be located in the passenger side radiator tank, You need to take it out and clean the sludge off of it for it to work right. Or you can just unplug it and forget about it, the light will go out and it won't cause any problems.
