Question about 1997 Plymouth Grand Voyager

1 Answer

I have a 1997 Plymouth Grand Voyager that is having some problems continuing to run. It started having hesitation problems when starting from a stop. I assumed that it might have been something with the weather, as it was a rainy/nasty day. Yesterday when I was driving it started doing the same thing...nice day... It steadily got worse the further I drove. It got so bad that it wouldn't do anything but creep along, it finally stalled out. I let it sit for about 5-10 min then tried again. It started and would go normal as long as I was pressing the gas. When I slowed down that is when the car would start choking and stall out. Once it sat for a few more minutes i could get a little further down the road. I tried to start it after letting it sit for 10+ hours and it would not start. I let it sit over night and it finally turned over and started. I let it sit idling for about 10 min and would occasionally give it some gas. I would start revving up but would back off even though i was still pressing down on the accelerator. This didn't happen every time, but a few. After about 10 more minutes it finally stalled out again. Any thoughts?

97 Plymouth Grand Voyager 3.3 engine. The transmision just started slipping. The fluid level is fine and there are no leaks. There are no check engine lights on. Was running perfectly. What is the problem?

I have replaced alot of transmissions in thease vans, i would try changing the filter and fluid, if that doesn't help you may be looking at replacing the tranny.

I have a 1996 Plym. Grand Voyager, hesitation & stalling.

If it works well at speed and acts up when slowing or stopped it doesn't sound like fuel filter or pump. You can try running injector cleaner through the engine to clean the carborator injectors or fuel injectors if you have those. Look at replacing the plugs and wires on the motor.
