If he means the cables were put on backwards, you probably blew your 100A battery fuse.

If absolutely nothing turns on and nothing happens, thats most likely what you blew.

Its located in the under-hood fuse box. Its the biggest one in the box and you'll need an 8mm socket or a philips head, but I would recommend the socket. Those bolts are tight.

Car will not start radio or gauges will not work

sounds like a dead battery or a serious amount of fuses blown, or possibly bad ignition switch or improper security chip in key.

My 2006 Nissan Altima is stuck on park

Hi I had the same problem with mine when I called a dealer they said I had to change the transmission which cost me $1200. I asked some mechanics and was told they need to take the transmission out if you are told the same thing don't believe them turns out it just a bad fuse that blown. Look in ur fuse box for a blown fuse (fuse box located in the car by the driver side bar just below it on the left and the other fuse box in front pop the hood.) Locate the blown fuse and replace it I have made a video on YouTube to help

Diagnosing an electrical issue is never easy or cheap, sorry. When fuses blow, it is due to an improper flow of electrons. When relays go bad, it is due to overheating(which is often due to an improper flow of electrons). The BCM(Body Control Module) could be to blame... let us know how it works out =D

if the cables were put on wrong yes..since it sounds like you are not mechanically proficient, go to a shop that specializes in auto electrical..they should be able to fix fairly inexpensively(cheaper than the dealer)..

A restricted coolant flow (clogged radiator, collapsed hose, etc.) or improperly functioning cooling fan(s) can cause the computer to disable the air conditioner compressor so as to reduce the heat load on the cooling system. What does the indash temperature gauge indicate? Is it running hotter than normal?

Make sure the radiator is full (you mentioned changing the thermostat, did you bleed any trapped air) and make sure you're getting power to the fan(s). Make sure you don't have a blown fuse in the underhood fuse box. If one is blown, you also need to find out why it blew in the first place.

If you check all of this and nothing comes up out of the ordinary, take the vehicle to a radiator shop for further checking.

Good luck!

That is what a fuse does: it protects the electrical system from catching on fire. If the new fuse you installed didn't burn out right away, you are okay. The mechanic was just playing it really safe. If you did have a really bad short the new fuse would have blown right when you installed it.

Nothing on the inside works like the radio, lights, ac, the only thing that works is the dash lights come on when you crank it up( like the seat belt lights etc.)

YOU MAY HAVE BLOWN THE 125 AMP FUSE IN THE UNDERHOOD FUSE BOX. THIS HAPPENS IF THE BATTERY HAS BEEN JUMPED IMPROPERLY.

ATTACH A TEST LIGHT TO THE GROUND POST ON THE BATTERY AND TOUCH THE LIGHT TO EACH SIDE OF THE FUSE. IF THE LIGHT COMES ON TRY TOUCHING EACH OF THE MAXI FUSES IN THE FUSE BOX WITH THE KEY ON. REPLACE ANY BLOWN FUSE.
