Question about 2006 Saturn L300

Oxy Sensor 2002 L300 Saturn Saab V6 This car has 3 Oxy sensors 1) 1 0n Cylinders 246 Front - BEFORE Ca Converter - Cost 130,00 2) 1 on Cylinders 135 Back - BEFORE Cat Converter - Cost 57.00 3)1 After Cat Converter The one that appears replacing is number 1 - It sends a signal based on temperature and tells the Engine ECU to run Rich or Lean ( hey its 40 below outside - send the injectore more fuel / rich. I cooled this sensor with Ice and after engine had cooled down it restarted But still no codes or data from the scanner including freeze frame.??? would have thought it would generate a fuel system error. Whoever decided to put the termostat under the intake manifold should be shot - have gotten a PO128 Low coolant temp - but temp guages and everything is fine - except low heater output - suspect themostat is stuck partly open - does not overheat so stata isn't stuck Thanks for your input Does this make sense

Makes 100% sense to me

I have a 1999 SL1 that I'm having a field day with. I installed a OEM cruise control on the car, took it to the dealer and had them program the PCM to see the cruise.

Cruise works flawlessly, but now I have a Service Engine Soon and Service Lights on all the time (Crank position sensor error and 1 cylinder missfire error) that the dealer cannot get to reset (Car runs perfectly) Dealer has worked on it 4 days so far (at their cost, not mine) they seem to be stumped. I love it!

2002 Saturn L300 - Having Problem after car heats up and you try to restart. Have Checked OBCD-2 and Scanner and see no problems. Think it is the Front ( before Catalytic Converter Oxygen Sensor???

The Oxygen sensor on the exhaust manifold/pipe sends a signal to make the fuel mixture richer while the engine is warming up. Once the engine is to operating temperature, it sends a signal to lean the fuel mixture.

If the sensor fails, then signal to lean the fuel mixture is not sent.

Oxygen sensor is recommended to be replaced at 100,000 miles.

From your description, replacing it should resolve.

Will to much oil in the engine cause the o2 censor to send code P0421. saturn l300 2002

No, but fix the oil level before you damage the engine.
The code is the O2 sensor , past the catalytic converter, either you have a fouled spark plug, a bad converter , or a bad O2 sensor.

Where are 'Bank one' 'Sensor one' located on the 2002 Mazda Tribute ES

if it's a four cylinder motor it only has one bank of cylinders, sensor one is going to be the one before the catalytic converter, should be visible under the hood. if it is a V6 then bank one is going to be the one closest to the very front of the vehicle, again sensor one is going to be the one BEFORE the catalytic converter.

Were are the 02 senors located on a 2001 saturn L100

This is a 4 cylinder right? Open the hood and look down between the engine and firewall, this is behind the engine. You will see the exhaust pipe, follow the exhaust pipe up to where it is bolted to the exhaust manifold. You will see the upstream O2 sensor screwed in there, more or less horizontally with wire connector pointed at driver side of car. Now get under the car and find the catalytic converter in the exhaust pipe, a big bulbous thing, the downstream O2 sensor will be after the converter, but before the muffler and will also have an electrical connection.

Saab 95 2002 3.0l v6 turbo. when warm, starts to

Have you had your mass air meter checked or replaced? This is the unit attached to the air intake hose behind your air filter. It senses the air temperature, speed, density, etc... and adjusts the fuel/air ratio to keep the vehicle running at "peak" performance. Also, check your TPS (throttle positioning sensor) it can also cause the problem you speak of. The TPS adjusts your engine speed/idle etc. and also compensates for hot/cold changes etc. This is roughly a $35.00 part and in most cases usually an easy fix.

O2 Sensor Circuit Slow Response Bank 1 Sensor 1
this is the sensor that is located in the exhaust just off the engine and before the cat converter, so it is the front sensor.
