How do you know if the ignition is going out on a 1999 ford taurus

In my case, it just shut down randomly. Wait 5 minutes, then it starts. Few weeks later it happened again, then in a week, then every few days, then half the time.
That's how electronic modules fail on Fords.

Where is the ignition control module located on a 2003 ford taurus 3.0

check inside the dist cap it usually is in there. However not real sure due to it being a Ford.

check ignition module on top of steering colum or the crank positing sensor bottom of engine

I have a 1999 ford tuares it runs when its cold but when it gets worm it shuts off

try the ignition module if it heats up it will shut the spark off shuttin the engine off

either crank sensor or ignition module ,also try the spare key

94 taurus wont start after 30 minutes of running until engine cools off

the taurus uses a "thin film" ignition module located on the side of the distributor where it touches the distributor there is a film of heat transfer paste to keep the module cool this paste dries out and, the module heats up and, you have a "no start" until the module cools
the paste is availlible from Ford or, radio shack

My car keeps cutting off during driving

Sounds like a problem with the ignition module. If the car runs fine for a bit then quits,,,, and if you wait a few minutes it restarts,,,, replace the module.

1999 Taurus air bag control module where ?? Have
