Question about 1998 Chevrolet Prizm

1 Answer

I have a 1998 Chevrolet Prizm, the right front head light three prong connector melted or shorted out. The three leads were removed from the melted electrical connector. I removed the headlight and light bulb and replaced the light bulb, also noticed was a blown 10 amp fuse which also was replaced with a spare. And I also replaced the front left light bulb. However, on low beam, the front right beams high while the left front is low, when I flick on the high beam, the front right beam low. The three prong wiring leads are loose on the front right I used the wiring sequence from the front left has my guide. Red, yellow, and green was the sequence on front left. Should I changed the sequence to correct the problem or is it the problem?

Just want to disconnect the A/C compressor on my 1998 Prizm. How do I do this?

just unplug the electrical connector at the compressor,it freewheels when not in use so it has no affect on the horsepower at that time,if you still want to completely remove it you need to have the refrigerant professionally removed( federal law) then you can remove the compressor and install a take up pulley to install in its place, but i would just unplug it,besides it will have higher resale value should you trade later and the A/C compressor is still on it

When i turn on the headlights, all of the right side works, but the lights on the left side are not working. Whats the problem?

the first step is to check the bulbs, if the bulbs are good then remove the head light switch and take a look at the wiring connector, these are known for bad switches and also connectors melting, start there, good luck.

How do you replace blower motor resistor on a 2004 Envoy? Front fan motor does not go on so I am assuming its the blower resistor.

Here is how to change the resistor- but also pay attention-
Did you also change the connector at the same time?
If you are changing the resistor due to overheating and melting of plastic, then you need to do the connector also, or else it will repeat fail in a very short time.

Here is a step-by-step check you can do to fix it. If you are onlygetting high speed (setting 5), then most likely you have a resistorproblem, or the wiring connector to the resistor is bad. The groundwire prong being bad is a possible cause.

Check this for step-by-step checks:
