Car shakes which is called shimmy shake,if brake pads been replaced wheels still shimmy, you have worn brake rotors with low and high spots, you could have bad wheel bearing, you have worn out tie rod ends and worn out ball joints, you could have tire out of balance, also you could need front end alignment.many things will cause wheels to do the shimmy shake.

The tie rods, ball joints, and balance would not wear out brake pads.
It could only be warped rotors or bad wheel bearing.
Easy to tell because only one brake rotor would be getting hot.
Lift that wheel off the ground and shake the wheel, looking for looseness.

you say car shakes which is caused by warped brake rotors, worn wheels bearings cause wheel shimmy, worn tie rod ends, worn ball joints, tire out of balance,or wheel alignment is off,any of these worn components will cause wheel or tire shimmy causing car to shake when moving or brakes applied.

Shakes when i put on the brakes

Hi there,

It is possible that one (or more) of your brake discs (or related components) are warped. This occurs when your brakes have been used for extended periods (e.g. braking for a long period down a steep hill, or harsh braking at high speed), causing overheating of the discs or components.

Have your brakes checked. If discs are warped, they can be machined back to a nice flat surface.

If brakes are ok, then the shaking may be related to the suspension.

When pressing on brake pedal car shakes ?

First check that your wheels are tightened to the correct torque. If they are OK, it looks like you will have to have your brake drums/discs machined to create a level surface for your brake pads to seat onto. The brake drums/discs can distort with heavy use due to a build up of heat, thus distorting them. When you apply pressure to the brakes, the brake pads ride up and down the distortion making the brake pedal shake; sometimes quite viciously.

When brakes applied the steering wheel shakes.

Your disc brake rotors are warped. Solution? Remove the disc brake rotors and have them turned on a brake lathe. Warpage comes from a hot disc brake rotor going through a puddle of water which causes the warpage. If you have a Parking Brake, get in a safe area and when stopping, ONLY apply the parking brake. If the steering wheel stops shaking...there's your problem...warped disc brake rotors.

Stearing wheel is shaking when brakes applied

Hi and welcome to FixYa I am Kelly. This is most often caused by out of true disc rotors for the brakes. Most brake shops have equipment that will turn the rotors will still installed on the car. The cost should not be more than $35.00 to just have the rotors turned. Keep in mind that they are a brake shop and will be looking for "extra" work while doing the lathe work on your rotors.

Thanks for choosing Fixya.

Clicking noise coming from the Engine and car shakes when stoppin

Probably a disc brake pad scraping on a warped rotor as it goes around. When you apply the brakes the warped rotor causes the car to pulse or shake as the rotor goes around and applies the brake unevenly. You need a front brake job.

Bmw 316ti shuddering when applying brakes

This condition indicates warped rotors. You will need to remove the rotors and have them turned on a brake laythe. Since you will have the calipers off, go ahead and replace the pads...its an inexpensive maintennance item. Good Luck, Hope this is helpful.

Brakesa are jumping when brakes are applied

i do believe you mean the service brakes, and when pushing the brake pedal the truck shakes?

Pad transfer will cause uneven brake discs with humps on em. Every time you then step on the brake pedal you'll feel the pads going over the humps, causing the shakes.

The best way to get rid of this is to replace the disc brakes with new discs.
Remember to change the pads too.
