Question about 2002 Kia Rio

1 Answer

I have a 2002 Kia Rio. I replaced the front wheel bearings recently, and just had the rear wheel bearings replaced. I'm getting a sound still which sounds like in the front, like a bearing. Could there be another bearing besides the front wheel bearings that could be causing the grinding bearing noise? Like near the transmission or gear shifter?

Is it possible to remove and replace front wheel bearings with out a press

In order to remove the front wheel bearings without press hub off the bearing and then the bearing out of the knuckle. To do the first step need a a Support Bridge. It is a special tool. Make bridge and use a general bearing pulled kit to replace bearings. use a "Front Wheel Drive Bearing Removal Adapters Puller Pulley Tool Set Kit" .To replace the bearing, remove front CV shaft taking care not to move the CV shaft too far out .

Hello, I have problem on my 2004 Kia Rio, with right rear wheel bearing, it stuck and has noise. what you can suggest to do?

Get all wheel bearings replaced.A car of that age shouldn't have wheel bearings failing so early.Try getting something aftermarket as Kia parts are not that reliable. There are heaps of complaints about this car if you google.

Grinding noise from rear and rear brack hub hot

Collapsed rear wheel bearing or worn brake shoes or pads. You will need to pull the wheel and hug off to check both.

Car jerks to left w/no warning

My opinion, not a good car. But that is a different story. It would be easiest to bring the car in for an alignment. The technician will tell you what the car needs to do the alignment. But if you want to do it yourself then you will need to inspect all the steering componants (tie-rods,struts, lower ball joint, wheel bearings, brakes, wheels, tire wear, tread pattern, and tire pressure, and lug nuts (loose or overtightened). Good luck.

Need instruction manual/schematics for replacing 2005 kia rio driver side rear wheel bearing. i've got the wheel/hub/bearing off, not the inside ring to the bearing. i need to know how to replace it .

clean all the grease if there is any out of the hub, turn the hub over and using a drift and hammer strike the shell from the back edge working around the shell as you go, should not take too much to remove it but you will need a bit more than a tap with the hammer.
Hope this has helped you

Front wheel bearing problem with 2002 rio

It,s probebly that the knot that holds the bearing in plase is being plased too tight, It,s the oldest trick in the book... this way you will have return about every two or tree months to get it fixed, and so the mechanic can keep eating.
