This sounds like a 02 oxygen sensor, they are normally located into the exhaust pipe, and normally before the catalytic converter, they will be screwed in to the exhaust and will have a wire connected to them, i would check the wire to the sensor first to make sure that it is still connected, if it is ok, then i would replace the sensor, you will need a oxygen sensor socket and ratchet, or possibly a breaker bar along with the socket to get the sensor out, sometimes, these are pretty tight, you can purchase the sensor socket at a auto parts store , if you don't already have one. hope that this information has helped you. the socket that i have is a 22 mm.

This is a oxygen sensor code no activity bank 1 sensor 2. so the oxygen sensor on the #1 cylinder side after the catalyst needs to be replaced. it is located on the exhaust pipe after the catalytic converter

The causes for a P0140 code are few and unless the wire/s has been damaged, replacing the sensor is usually the smartest thing to do.

My car indicates check engine sigh with following two codes 1: p0139 2: p0140

Hi Garcha,

Both codes relate to O2 Sensor # 2

Code P0139: O2 Sensor Circuit Slow Response - Bank 1, Sensor 2
Code P0140: O2 Sensor Circuit No Activity Detected - Bank 1, Sensor 2

A faulty O2 sensor will mean incorrect signals will be sent to the EFI computer, causing erratic engine running.

Cheers,
