Question about Chevrolet Camaro
The starter may have to have shims put in it or if it has shams you may have to take them out sounds like the Bendix is either hitting the flywheel or missing it totally if the Bendix is working correctly

It sounds to me like its probably your starter bendix. when the starter turns over it springs out and engages with your flywheel and turns over your moter
