Nissain Terrano Runs pourly when under quarter of a tank of diesel but fine when over quarter

the fuel tank may need cleaning, sediment appears to be blocking the pick up tube when tank is at quarter, or the pick up tube may be broken at that height and the system cavitates at 1/4 tank

Toyota lucida hard to start most times. occasionaly ok. 2.2 diesel. everything seems to work as should

in cold weather diesel gels up and sometimes causes a no start issue..a cetane fuel additive helps with this issue. if temps go below 20 degrees, add a quart per tankful of cetane to the fuel to help start on cold mornings. also diesels require more amperage to crank than gas engines do..thus a stronger battery is needed..

I have a F-250 2007 6.0 Deisel. I had to replace the sending unit in the tank to mark the fuel level. My diesel consumption is getting worse by the day. I'm one that changes oil every 5k miles and fuel...

The MAF sensor in the air intake has a Temperature sensor in it to automatically adjust injector timing. Try cleaning it with Electronics cleaner and see if the problem goes away.

With the aftermarket products if have heard mostly good things, but it comes down to setting the injector timing for the best results and that can be done with the stock parts. With the Diesel you get your mixture by setting when the fuel enters the chamber. There are parts like the ICP which is under the Y pipe at the bottom of the engine on Turbos that can affect fuel consumption. Some of the crank sensors can be adjusted to fix timing issues.

For the price of fuel take it to someone with the proper gauges if cleaning or replacing the MAF does not help you. You really need to know what is going on with measured readings. A sticking Injector can do you in even if the timing is okay.

I hope you find my solution practical and helpful.

it has gotta be the o2 sensor, map sensor, or the mass air flow meter.............. these are the main inputs to the computer that controls the fuel control....let me know how that works out please

Estima lucida 94 auto diesel needs jump leads every time

put a 12 volt test meter on the battery with the engine off and get the reading.
then start the engine and retest the volts it should go up a volt ot two.
if the test readings are the same then the alternator is bad.
thank you

VW Golf 2001, V4 Oil tank is empty approxi after 2000 miles

Because your car is consuming so much oil, you need to check the level often, so the level won't go down more than one quart. You will get an idea how long you can drive the car before it is down one quart, and should keep the level at the full mark. You should change the oil filter, as it is still collecting contaminants.
Have you checked the spark plugs condition? It seems the oil consumption will result in the plugs being fouled soon . Keep that oil level up, or the result will be a seized engine. Also, I'm guessing the tail pipe shows black residue, another sign of high oil consumption. This is probably why someone sold this car, they didn't want to deal with an expensive repair of an engine rebuild. You are correct, an oil change should be done every 3k miles.
