Question about Ford Festiva
Hi, there is usually a plug on the side of the transmission about half way up. The plug usually has a 3/8' square hole, so you can use a regular socket ratchet to remove it. Sometimes it has a torx hole instead of a square hole. I have been looking high and low for a good Festiva transmission picture but had no luck so far. I understand the Festiva manual transmission uses Dexron 3 fluid--not gear oil. Was the fluid that leaked out purple like auto trans fluid? To refill the transmission, remove the plug and use a nozzle on the fluid bottle and also a hose, if necessary, to guide the fluid into the hole in the side. Fill until the fluid level is up to the bottom of the hole and leaks out as fast as you put it in. Put the plug back in, and that's it. I will keep looking for a good picture,so please do let me know if you find it so I can stop looking.
