If you buy a recharge can from your local auto parts store the connector will only fit on the high side. It is usually bigger then the low side so the connector will only clip onto the high side connector.

Dude, you don't recharge the a/c system from the high side....did you mean to say low side???

You are correct sir. The low side is the bigger connection and the only connection that the refill can with the hose will connect to with the quick connector attachment.

Searching for the location of the a/c low-side service port in a 2003 Monte Carlo to attach auto air conditioner R-134a with Stop Leak

The low pressure port in the AC system is between the evaporator which is in the heater/AV housing in the dash. The line between that part and the compressor is the low pressure or suction line. You should find a connector in that line that has a cap on it. When you take the cap off, it is a snap on quick disconnect with a "tire stem valve" in it. Be sure to screw the cap back on with you are finished.

Thanks for using FixYa.

I have a 04 Monte Carlo ss and need to add ac charge. Is the low side port along the firewall or the one that sits by the air cleaner?

The Air Conditioning Ports (High Side and Low Side) are different Sizes.

The High Side is Larger and RED
The Low Side is Smaller and Blue

trace the 2 aluminum lines coming out of the firewall. The one that goes to the compressor has the low pressure port you are looking for. It might be on the dryer (silver cylinder).

Can't get comp to run while trying to charge

Try using a jumper wire between the two wires on the low pressure switch located on the large silver canister on the passenger side near the firewall. This should activate the compressor until the pressure comes up enough for the switch to take over.Good luck,
