Question about 2001 Dodge Stratus
I have a 2001 Dodge Stratus (3L, 6 cylinder) and noticed that when I turned on the AC (pushed the snowflake button) it was blinking orange instead of maintaining a solid orange. What does this mean?
HEY GUYS! YOU ALL HAVE GOT A HAIRY ONE HERE, BUT I'M GOING TO JUMP IN HERE WITH ONE IDEA THAT I THINK WILL SOLVE THIS MESS. WHAT WE HAVE HERE IS AN A/C COMPRESSOR OVERHEATING AND SENDING OUT THIS WARNING SIGNAL( THE FLASHING ORANGE LIGHT ) AND SHUTTING DOWN THE CAR TO KEEP FROM BURNING UP THE COMPRESSOR. IF YOU CAN CHECK THE COOLANT LEVEL IN THE A/C SYSTEM IN THE CAR, YOU WILL PROBABLY FIND THAT IT IS LOW AND NEEDS R-134A ADDED. YOU CAN GET ALL THIS AT WAL-MART OR ANY PARTS STORE. JUST FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS AND ONCE YOU GET THE LEVEL SET CORRECT, I THINK YOUR PROBLEM WILL BE SOLVED AND YOU WON'T HAVE ANYMORE STALLING.THIS IS A SAFETY FEATURE TO PROTECT THE COMPRESSOR BECAUSE THESE THINGS CAN COST A BUNDLE TO REPLACE. GOOD LUCK AND I HOPE THIS WORKS FOR YOU! IT'S THE BEST SHOT I HAVE FOR THIS, BUT I FEEL IT'S THE ONE! IF YOU NEED MORE HELP, REPLY TO:ARCLIGHT1217
