Shakes upon acceleration, almost like it's missing or timing is off maybe?

I would be looking at my drive shaft and any bushes around the engine mounts, particularily any at the back of the engine.

If you check anything you distrubed when you changed the tie rods.

More info on the car would nbe helpful

probably a problem with the injectors as they are more likely the problem than the plugs
run the fault codes to get a close area of the problem

Check the ECU codes and act upon them.

Is the check engine light on ? A cylinder miss would cause the shake on acceleration.

Shakes upon acceleration is definitly an axle, quite common!

4.2 ltr missing. 2000 truck, f150. Changed plugs, wires. Ran great for 2 weeks. Started again. Changed coils. Got worse. Changed fuel filter, did nothing. Added injector cleaner and fuel cleaner, nothing. Checked EGR, o.k. It is getting worse. Had new gas about the time it all started.

check your motor mounts

It sounds like you may have a problem feeding the fuel to your engine, I had the same problem with my 89 RS. All the 1989 model's fuel systems were recalled. I think you may need a new fuel pump. The fuel pump is located inside the gas tank in the rear of the car right under the rear axle. The fuel pump itself isn't too expensive, but with other small parts such as the electrical harness upgrade and fuel filter and the labor you should be looking somewhere in the $500 range. I hope this helps.

Your timing belt could be broken. You want to have this checked as soon as possible to prevent any further engine problems.
