The A/C system can have many problems first check at the compressor. look to see if when the air is on that the clutch on the compressor is spinning. if it is not try adding some refrigerant to the low side inlet. i would use the kind with the dye in it. if the system is completely empty you may need to put two cans in just to get the compressor to kick on. if you have two cans in and the compressor clutch is not spinning then you compressor is shot and will need to be replaced. if it is spinning it should be blowing cold. look for leaks in the lines leaks will be identified by the dye glowing usually green if no leaks are found you may have just lost refrigerant from normal usage. if that is the case add another can to top it off and enjoy. hope this helps '

YOU are not mentioning that someone like me for example has the freon gas coming out of vents despite replacing freon 3 times. I enderstand that the dashboard has to come out and that as ALL stupid car manufacturers the problem could lie in the small radiator under the damn dashboard. ( my car KIA SPORTAGE 2009) will be an expensive business.

    Any ideas ?????????????

i am not sure i am understanding what you are saying. are you saying the freon is coming out through the vents? if so that would be a sign that the evaporator core has a leak in it and would need to be replaced. to replace this the entire dash will need to come out. this while not that difficult is time consuming, it is an all day job. if you decide to do it yourself be sure to label all electrical connections so you know where they go when putting it back together. cost of doing it yourself is probably two to three hundred dollars. cost of taking it somewhere to have it done is probably around fifteen hundred. if i can be of more help please let me know.

2005 kia sportage Do Power Windows stop working if they're cold and heater isn't blowing enough air to heat vehicle?

No, should not affect the power windows. Something else made them stop working. If no windows work at all, could be a fuse for them is bad. If fuse is good (some vehicles use a circuit breaker rather than a fuse), then you need to start testing at the master power window switch, which is the window switch on the driver's door.

1999 kia sportage heat and air will not blow

Try finding the blower motor and see if it will work if you hot-wire it. If it doesn't, the blower motor will need replaced. If it does work the switch may be defective.

Heater blows cold air

Sounds like the cooling system is low on antifreeze. Have you checked to make sure it is at it's proper level?

2005 Kia Sportage ac does not blow for a few days then next morning it will be fine again

There may be a cabin filter, but you should still hear the blower running even if the filter is clogged.
A mechanic would check for voltage and ground at the blower motor when it does not work.

Heater blows cool air. temp. gauge stays on cold and when on defrost the ac light comes on and blows cold air. Any ideas or solutions?

heart core is plugged or more thremostae is stuck in the opened position. the A/C will always come on during defrost that is how it works on all cars.
