It sounds like you have a pulley alignment problem with one of the pulleys.did you have any left over washers or spacer not put back.the other problem is the belt tensioner may be worn and need replacing.these are the usual things that cause a belt coming off.if the belt is not on all the pulleys correctly it can throw a belt also.make sure there isn`t something(like a part of the timing cover)sometimes it doesn`t take much to cause this.

Did you check the tensioner, it may be getting weak.

I have a Standard Transmission 2005 Dodge Neon SXT. It is revving really high to get up to speed in each gear? Had the timing belt replaced so thats brand new and it still is happening??

2 things come to mind. Are you 100% sure you don't have an emergency brake or any other brake sticking, even partially? 2nd thing would be Catalytic converter may be partially plugged. That is assuming a tune-up, filters etc have been done .

It runs rough when it idles. The water pump was changed a couple months ago. But it ran great till last Friday. Someone said it was a firing coil.

Whomever replaced the water pump had to remove the timing belt to get to the pump. It's possible the belt was not replaced properly and the engine timing is off. Details about this can be found by registering for free at www.autozone.com and accessing the shop manual for your vehicle.

2001 chrysler neon, 3 valves bent, how much appproximatly to repair

hello there:
if you were to take it to a shop it will cost you about $600 plus i would suggest that you do both sides at the same time if you were to do it you're self the the cost would be much less but you would still need to take the heads in to have them machined and have new valve guides put in hope thgis helps you out sincerely D.Jones

Timing belt on dodge neons

I'm not really sure on your situation as I'd have to see that car.. but your saying they are out of alignment now?.. I've seen it where someone has aligned one of the cams upside down.. also one of the notches should be slightly higher then the other as when the tensioner is released it will pull down the cam... always do a couple rotations after aligning them to make sure they come back to the same spot.. its possible to be out a tooth.. anyway.. dunno if this will help but good luck.
