So what is the condition of your engine at this point? to you really know if it is fried or not? Did someone check toe oil pressure, or is it clattering? If it is clattering, good luck, but have it thoroughly checked out first. A new engine alone is about 3K.
The front cover is in line with your crankshaft and that's where the oil pump is at. Remove the belts, radiator and lower pulley from the engine (parts stores rent them) remove the half dozen bolts from the cover, and the two or four bolts from the oil pan and wriggle it out. It IS expensive though. expect about 200 bucks for just the pump. And while you are at it, a smart DIY'er would change the pan gasket too. Be smart.

Is it very difficult to change the cam iol seal on a 2.0 toyota rav 4 1999, and is there anything I should know that the book doesn't tell

pulling the timing belt on older RAV4 engines is a more difficult task but not impossible.

Do you have some experience with timing belts and or cars in general?

Hello, i had an oil change, and a day later my emissions light came on then the car started to chug, sputter or what, like it was not getting gas... I was not having any problems until the oil change...can...

sounds like they have put too much or the wrong oil in the car.. check your manual or call the dealer to find out what oil it takes also check your iol dipstick to see if there is too much or not enough iol in the car. i hope this helps. maby check your air filter too, make sure its clean and the car can breath..

Low iol pressure light coming on

could be a sensor. Need to put a gauge on there and check the oil pressure, If ok, replace the sensor. If you have low oil pressure at idle, it is likely the oil pump is shot or the pick up screen is clogged with debris. In either case, this is going to require major repairs.
