The high press line is usually marked with a black cap on top normally on the passenger side close to the firewall. Just note if you are trying to add refrigerant to the ac DO NOT put it in the high side always the low side marked with blue cap usually has an L on it. hope this helps

Where is the orfice tube on a 2000 jeep wrangler

It is located in the AC compressor liquid line which is the smaller of the 2 AC lines under the hood, the liquid line connects to the inlet of the AC evaporator core

No power to compressor 2 pounds of Freon compressor, expansion valve, dryer condenser an high pressure switch new.

I would say that with 2 lbs of Freon in the system that the high pressure switch is stopping the compressor from working and being destroyed from liquid on top of the pistons. An ac system works by compressing gas to liquid and then releasing that liquid through a small orifice into a vacuum created by the ac compressor .With excessive liquid then that turning to gas situation will not occur and liquid will get to the pistons and stop the piston movement. I recommend that you take it to a ac specialist and have the system pumped down into a receiver tank and then the correct amount of refrigerant gas added .

Where do you put gas for air conditioner for s-type jaguar

Hi Barry, If you look carefully at the two AC pipes you will see two plastic valve covers (similar to valve caps on tyres, but larger). One is high pressure and the other low. When regassing the engine should be running ith the AC turned on. Regards John

What is a liquid line on a auto ac system?

ORIFICE TUBE AND LOCATION IN VEHICLE

If you are not somewhat mechanically inclined you should let a professional do this as the AC coolant will be released. You will have to re-charge the system upon completion. Here are some quotes from on-line mechanics to give you a better idea what you are looking for. The Orifice tube can be determined as faulty when your AC doesn\'t cool properly in the summer or heat well in the winter. Often you will smell antifreeze inside your car\'s interior.

"It\'s buried pretty good. It\'s in the liquid line that runs along the left inner fender well, under the brake booster. If you look closely at the line, you will see a connection and dimples in the line where the tube is located." Quote from ASE: Wrenchtech Aug 2011.

The liquid line is located in the area of the abs pump.

"The fixed orifice is located in the inlet tube to the evaporator core, this is where the small high pressure AC line from the compressor connects to the tube sticking out of the engine firewall, u will most likely need a special tool to remove it," below is an example of the tool, "don\'t damage the evaporator core by trying to remove the orifice tube without this if it is stuck down in the tube." ---Dennis Weid

The tool comes as a single apparatus or you can get the kit. Here are some examples of manufacturers who make these parts. I have removed the sales information because there are literally hundreds of choices out there including your local parts stores:

Mastercool 92311 Deluxe Orifice Tube Repair Kit This 5 piece universal kit will remove and install any style orifice tube.

Another suggestion comes from Ronnie Bennett Sr.: "The orifice tube will be on the small line joining the evaporator, the ac line will be swelled where the orifice tube is at, you may not see it, but use needle nose pliers to remove it, and to install it."

But I would look at YouTube for a better understanding of what you are looking for, how it works and how to remove and replace it, so try this site to start with and look further. You\'ll be surprised the amount of data available and a video is worth a zillion words.

If you haven\'t seen pictures of the part, this is what it looks like:

2005 T-Bird has definite gasoline fumes inside car. sometimes worse than others. Local Ford dealer ran lots of tests on line, etc and can find nothing. Says AC is probably leaking and that's th

ac has an odor but different from gas.. when you fill up do you top off completely or just wait until the pump clicks off..if you top off all the time you can overflow the vent tubes all the way up to the charcoal canister that has vacuum lines going to it..this vacuum can get sucked into the cars interior if not vented properly..careful use of low pressure airhose can blow these lines clear of any liquid inside..then don't completely top off at the gas station any moore..too high of a liquid level is just asking for problems..

What does a ac high pressure hose look like

well it looks like a hose. the high pressure (liquid) line comes off the compressor, goes to the condenser, then to the evaporator. its always the smallest diameter of the 2 lines. The larger is the low or vapor line

Where is the oriface tube for the a/c?

Hello TJ.
If yours is the S15 Jimmy it is mounted inside the inlet tube to the evaporator.
Number 142 in the diagram below.8692419.gif

If it is the full size Jimmy the orifice tube is located in the evaporator inlet pipe (high side line) at the liquid line connection.
You will need to undo #41 nut to get to it.
Here is a diagram.

This should cover your question.

01 Suburban AC question

check the space between the ports, it is common to have both fittings on the same line if and only if the orifice tube is located between them because thats what seperates the low pressure side from the high pressure side, the high pressure side will be warm to hot when the a/c is running, once the hot liquid hits the orifice tube it turns into a cool vapor, so if you feel one side is hot and one side is cool then the orifice tube is whats between them and it is true that the low and high pressure sides can be on the same line.
