Is this vehicle a europeon market vehicle or a american market vehicle as the former cannot have the codes read but the american market one can ,the tcs light is traction control light so it could be a problem with the ABS sensors but i would need to have a play with my automotive meter as i dont think that even my fancy 2500 euro machine can read certain software on this vehicle even more so if its europeon market model ,Cant you ask one of the mechanics on base to have a look at this vehicle for you and give a better idea as to what could be wrong .

It is US spec.,- the Van is running good,- lights just keep comming on!! We did replace both sensors,- upper and lower. This is so frustrating!!!

  • sueforstner Apr 07, 2011

We also did bring it on base,- the only reply we got was: Just drive it with the lights on. We dont know what the problem is! Isnt this a great answer? We had it on base in Mannheim and Wiesbaden!! Still no solution!

this is annoying i know but it is an old vehicle at 12 yrs old and the advice you were given just to drive it is not bad advice ,but if it is the tcs light on then the local honda garage should be ably to sort it ,but in germany this vehcile is nearly a classic at 12 yrs of age and after ten years from last production run no spares are kept for it ,Now if you do decide to buy a new vehcile then be carefull as as any new europeon build vehicle will not pass the american emmisions test if you take it back as all new europeon vehciles have encrypted software that have to be linked with the factory via the internet .But back to present vehicle ,these lights are no more than a problem at one of the wheels with a sensor or the toothed gear which is the impulse provider for the sensor and i i have had the this metal ring come loose on these vehciles where they are welded to the drive shaft and a quick spot weld cures them .No better still buy a nice renault laguna or scenic latest model then ship it back to the states and try to get a emmisions certificate to import it ??? This would be better than a british carry on film especially when autozone try to read codes ,Also as a security measure you should be driving a german registered vehicle to stop the bearded wonders ,This american vehicle should also be taken to a TUF station for a voulantry mechanical inspection in germany as they will locate the fault thats for sure ,if they dont take it off the road as unroadworthy

Thanks for the advise,- BUT: been there done that. Took it to a german HONDA dealer,- same advise here,- after putting over EURO 10.000 into the car,- just drive it with the lights on!!!! The codes we keep getting are for the O2 sensor, upper and lower, had them replaced. The next code reads the same a sbefore. Than Transmission code, EGR code etc. I believe we went through all codes possible. Bought the Van for $ 6.000 with a list price of $ 7.900. It only has about 58.000,- miles on it and after putting so much into this van it is hard for me to let go! Thanks for the advice,- I will have the issues you had adressed below looked into. Again, Thank you!!

This may seem like a stupid question, but have taken the car to an auto parts store to have them read the codes in the computer. i don't know what stores are in germany but here in the U.S. autozone or someplace like that will do it at no charge.

WE DID THAT. CODES READ ALWAYS DIFFERENT!!! PLUS, Germany does not have AUTOZONE and the dealers over here think that americans are easy to make money off. Even AAFES just took our money but never repaired the van. After paying USD 6.000 and so far up to EURO 14.000 we are just frustrated!!! And, Honda is no help at all!!!!!

2006 Elantra CEL STILL on after O2 bank 1 sensor 1 and flex pipe replaced

All that has to be done is use the codes you have had
for months ,to diagnose the systems with faults & make
whatever repairs are necessary. No big deal

Just have to actually do something, not you, a repair shop

1997 Mazda Protege...CEL P0141 still on with both new o2 sensors.

Code 141 is for the heater circuit for bank one sensor two. That is the O2 sensor after the catalytic converter.
If you have replaced the sensor and the code still sets, the problem is in the harness or the power source for that heater circuit.
The sensor is taking too long to heat up.

Abs light will not reset have replaced wheel sensor wires are good as i replaced speed sensor wires are good what next ??

Cluster warning lights

Whenever this warning light or any other stays on in the dash it is indicating that the systems control module (or the system sensor in the case of lights like low oil pressure, door open indicators etc.) has detected a fault, it then disables the system (this applies to ABS,TCS, TCM, SRS, TPMS, MIL, CEL and BCM faults and others) as long as the light is on. You must now have the dealer hook up a special electronic diagnostic tool and "scan" the system for the fault code that is stored for the problem(s)

Legend of Abbreviations. ABS Anti-lock brake system. TCS Traction control system, TCM Transmission control module, SRS Supplemental restraint system, BCM Body control module. TPMS Tire Pressure Monitor System, MIL Malfunction Indicator Lamp, CEL Check Engine Light.

2000 honda odyssey, sputtering and pinging, hesitating, check engine light w/ tcs light.....???

The following is from the Honda Odyssey (1999-2004) Service Manual page 19-81:

"When the Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL or check engine light) and the Traction Control System (TCS) light are both on at the same time, you should troubleshoot the Programmed Fuel Injection (PGM-FI) system first."

"The TCS indicator will come on if one or more of the following components are faulty:
heated oxygen sensor, manifold absolute pressure sensor, crankshaft position sensor, engine coolant temp. sensor, throttle position sensor, top dead center sensor 1 or 2, intake air temp. sensor, exhaust gas recirculation, barometric pressure sensor, idle air control valve, VTEC pressure switch, knock sensor, fuel supply system, automatic transaxle, and misfire detection system of the PGM-FI system."

Most major auto parts stores have a code reader that will read out your diagnostic trouble codes or DTC's that are stored in the car's computer when the MIL comes on. They will do it for free. With these codes, you can narrow down what is wrong. This is good information to have if you are dealing with a mechanic or dealership. The terminal to hook up the code reader is under the driver's side dash about in line with your right shin.

TCS and check engine light keeps coming on. We have had the code and it was the ERG value. We replaced and lights are still coming on.

You may have more than one code.
You may need a ABS sensor if the TCS light is coming on.
Check the codes again.
